IDK... I mean I guess you can get a half decent deal with the m18x, but they kinda ed over anyone that wants to buy the m17x/m14x. Their sale is just....terrible. Their last free ram upgrade is only worth $25 less than their entire black friday promotion for the M14x/17x. They lost my money for sure. I don't see how the sales are any different from me just haggling with someone over the phone. In fact, I could probably get more than 100 off :(

Dell and Alienware haven't been big on Black Friday deals this year. You'd almost be better off waiting til Christmas is closer. That's when they usually price everything ridiculously low because they need to clear out the current model to make way for the new revision release in Spring.

All due respect, people who are putting 512gb of ssd storage and 16gb of ram probably don't care very much about the price. Where's the love for the budget gamers D:

Doubt theres much of a profit margin on budget gamers.

Figure it like this, if they do a 10% mark off on all system, the $3000 system will get $300 off, while the $1000 system will only get $100 off.

A small profit margin is better than no profit at all...

Not really, at a certian price point they will loose any and all profit due to possible warranty issues. If they only make, say $100 off the sale. Thats not leaving much room for failed parts and onsite service.

Its more cost effective to loose a possible customer to not having a good enough black friday deal than it is to sell the computer so cheap they price them selves out of thier own warranty.

Not many people consider a budget laptop to be $1200-$1300.

if your looking for a system with that price, look at the asus or clevo models. Just remember you get what you pay for.

I saved over $200 on mine between calling them. And using the two dell programs to purchase. About $350 if you count the gift card I got too. This was without the black friday deals. I thought they would have had some better deals. Im cool with it though since now I dont feel bad buying sooner and not waiting till black friday!

Yep..I had gotten a good deal on a system that I ordered 2 weeks ago....plus some "freebie's" & then I saw that I could save an additional $ 200 .. so I canceled my order & they met my previous quote & gave me the black friday savings also. My laptop is pushed back an extra week.. but I'm in know big hurry. So I'm very happy :)

Call me lucky, but I scooped up my M18XR2 for $740 on Craigslist yesterday. I am happy to be part of the Alienware side now :) .

Not bad for I7 3720QM, 16GM Ram, 1TB HDD, and Nvidia GTX 660

Thanks! The guys wife was the one asking $725 for it. I thought he was almost going to weep letting it go because he knew it was worth so much more, but he was a man that believed in karma and seen how compassionate I was about owning it. I gave him the $740 and told him to keep the change. I know how much of a deal I got. lol

Dell outlet has 25% off on all laptop that is $1000+.

Buying a certified refurbished, scratch and dent Alienware with 1 year next business day warranty is just like buying a new Alienware with the 1 year next business day warranty. It's a no brainer.

Congrats on the steal!! Just need to put a real graphics card in it now. That 660m is a disgrace to a system like the M18x. :p

I wholeheartedly agree. I think I might pick up a couple 7970's soon if I decide to sell my old G73JH. I think my wife pretty much took that over though lol. I just opened this thing up to add another HDD and just stared in awe at what I got for such a cheap price.

Just because it is Black Friday or Cyber Monday, it doesn't mean there will be guaranteed sales.

    The deals are satisfactory, IMO.

You're able to get an additional $250 off by simply calling and speaking with someone during checkout, plus a 5% eGift card that can be used for anything on Dell's or Alienware's site. Of course it's not like most things we see for sale on Black Friday - 50% off, 65% off. If you expected anything like that, you should consider lowering your expectations. That is like asking for 50% off of a Lamborghini at the dealership - ain't gonna happen.

I'm happy with my purchase, I got a pretty good deal. I'm only concerned with the 680MX, about whether or not it will be available.
