    atm i have a 2.1 cpu in my laptop thinking about buying the 2.5, but i would love getting the 2.8 extreme, but i'm not gonna spend 1k for a processor thats insane, is there any other 2.8 that cost less like 500 atleast?

    nope. at any rate, i'd advise getting the 2.5, it's got the best price/performance ration imho.
