I'm not sure how the technology works so this may sound stupid to some, but logically thinking... it's just a laser that burns an image. Probably the same laser that writes files to a disc. Sounds logical enough, but again - I don't know anything about how it works... I'm purely speculating right now.

I bought a first gen m15x with the lightscribe slot-load burner... and subsequently I also bought about 1000 Lightscribe discs, lol! Well, the m15x was smashed and I sold what was left of it. I now own the m17x with the blu-ray player.

So here's my question... is there some sort of application I can download to make my burner work as a litscribe burner as well? Is the litescribe technology pretty common now?

I know... it may sound crazy - but any info would be helpful.

External links are ok as long as its not promoting an offsite forum. If you are posting information related to a problem (taken from another forum), post the info.

The "guide" you posted is fine.
