Am I crazy or is there no section for the m17? That's why I'm posting this in here. I'm looking at possibly getting the m17 R3. Wanted some opinions. I'm looking at the $2250 model. I'm also looking at the Dell XPS 17 (not yet released) and the Asus proart studiobook. I've been with alienware the last 8 years. So I'd like to stick with what I know, but the size of my laptops has always been a big downfall.

I travel constantly so I need to be mobile and I'm a video editor for a living. So I need power to edit raw 4k footage with apps like Adobe premiere pro and Davinci Resolve. I also like to game and play graphics intensive stuff. People were complaining so much about the R2's I think because of the lack of options for upgrades. So I was curious to get some opinions on the R3 in general and in relation to my needs. Some people were telling me the thinner power laptops like the xps 17 and asus proart studiobook have a good amount of power but they're not good for intensive things like long hours of video editing or render where the GPU and CPU are working intensely because of a lack of ventilation which I guess can lead to a lot of issues, which is where the alienwares annoying size supposedly comes in to help. Let me know your thoughts on this. I would love to go with something lighter for this next laptop but if the R3 is better for my needs and offers more power for the price I think it might be my best option. Any thoughts or suggestions greatly appreciated!
