Anyone else getting fed a load of **** when trying to use an already approved Titanium account? I ordered an m15x yesterday with a Titanium account I opened less than a month ago and called today to make a change to the order and was told there was a problem and I'd have to talk to a dell financial rep. After getting passed to someone who spoke very hard to understand English and then trying to call back multiple times I just up an canceled the order because I didn't have time to wait in la la phone system land all day.
So I finally got someone in the Titanium department a little while later and they told me there was no issue and they removed the "restriction" from my account. I called back and spoke to a rep and they said that since I canceled my order I could not get the Black Friday 100 off that I originally qualified for. I asked to be transferred to normal sales and spoke to an Andrea, and she was able to get me the 100 back but then while verifying my Titanium account (once again) she said another rep told her that there are always issues with the Titaniums and suggested she just reapply me for it. They ended up approving me for LESS that I qualified for just a few weeks ago (1000 less!) and now I cannot finance the machine?!
This is a total fiasco and I'm not a happy camper right now. Though Andrea said she escalated it to her supervisor, she won't be getting back to me until tomorrow and I am doubting that anything will come of it since up to this point, it's all been the run around anyhow.
So anyone else have horror stories like this?

This is why you don't sign up for a credit card from every retailer you shop with.
-
Actually, I only have 1 credit card plus the "supposed" Titanium and my banking debit visa. The only reason I'm trying to use the titanium is because it's christmas time and I use my quarterly bonus on my kids.
-
Unless you are getting the interest free deal (which you still need to watch out for), then I would advise you to go to a bank to get a small loan. The interest will be a TON better.

This should give you a very clear picture of the company you are attempting to do business with. While not all customers have issues, those who do have major problems. You are not starting out on solid footing and my suggestion is that you look into a different computer.
My intial experience with AW was similar but I persisted and am currently experience extreme frustration with my product and with the level of service I am receiving. I wish I had heeded the advice of those on this forum and not bought an AW computer. Good luck! -
Titanium account for me has been perfect. CS, very helpful. I spoke to Dell Financial, as well, since I am pretty sure AW doesn't do the financing, they just were forced to offer their "brand" financing through Dell.
Really, AW has been great to me so far, and I cant wait to get my m17x in the mail. -
One more piece of info. It is not Dell Finance, it is CIT (not to br confused with Citibank). CIT has more issues than AW and Dell combined. So if you have issues with credit dont take it up with the computer makers.

I do not have issue with CIT or my creditworthiness, I am frustrated with the process. They approved me for enough to charge the laptop, then when I try to use it they throw a "restriction" on it, then I go into accented phone la la land only to end up with DFS telling me the "restriction" had been removed and the Alienware salesperson re-applying me for whatever reason that essentially wipes out my original account for a new one that has 1G less available to it which now doesn;t allow me to buy the laptop.
Like I said in my original post, the onyl reason I was trying to use a Titanium account was because my quarterly bonus (November) goes towards Christmas for the girls. It is more than enough to pay for an Alienware. However, I will now need to wait until February to buy a laptop should the rep not come back with good news today which is what I'm expecting anyhow.
Again, just frustrated with the process as it feels like bait and switch scam. -
OK, this is FINALLY hammered out. I was able to get ahold of someone in Dell Financial Services this afternoon and
1) She had no accent
2) Was very understanding
3) Saw no issues with my account
4) Had it re-activated within 3 minutes with full credit line and I verified it on the AW website
I then called Alienware and while I could not get ahold of the rep that I spoke to yesterday, I got a new one who
1) She had no accent
2) Was able to see my old order
3) Verified I could get the Black Friday discount due to the issue I experienced with my first order
4) Verified and charged against my Titanium account
So I've had a 50% crappy experience to this point and a 50% good experience. They really did cancel each other out - yesterday and this morning was extremely unpleasant and frustrating where as this afternoon took abut 15 minutes front to back and was very pleasant. -
Glad to hear you managed to get it all sorted out.

DO NOT GET THIS CARD!
I helped my son out (he is in the Army) and got him one of the laptops using the online credit. He is waiting for his enlistment bonus to come through in order to pay it off. I got the account in Dec
They have no online payment options at all.
They charge you to pay by check via phone, I think it is 14.00
I payed the first payment using my online bill pay through my bank, they say they never received it although my bank shows it going to the correct adress and the correct account.
Now they have charged me 39.00 late fee and 70.00 additional interest.
Their customer service people are rude and obnoxious, since I actually paid my bill (bank is tracing the payment now) and even though they say they have not received it the payment if late would only be about 5 days late, yet I received a rude phone call.
I ended up having to post an additional 185.00 payment on the phone (remember there is also a 14.00 fee for this) so now I am out of pocket a total of 403.00 for a payment that was only suppose to be 83.00 bucks.
Stay away from this card. It is not worth the hassle. I only went this direction so my son could have his laptop and take it with him to his first assignment. Hopefully his bonus money will come through quick so I can pay it off. Once I do I will close it and I will never use Dell or Aleinware credit again. -
my parents made over 100k and they wouldnt apporve me for the no intrest we tried it said no and we were only approved for 2000 !!!!! ......pretty much BS on that titanium account and the no intrest deal
and there was half the intrest on our credit card then , their finance through their site
how can you make a 100k and not be approved for more then 2000 dollars and no intrest? -
No BS I got the 0% when I got my 9750 when it came out. I still have that if I want to purchase another as well.
Credit worthyness is a very tricky game to play. One CC is not enough. And the most important aspect of it all is paying off debt in a timely manner. It helps get you that good credit score everyone needs to get that 0%.
Again CIT is not the best as far as a collection entity they have a lot to be desired.
Knowing the financing game these days is very important. -
lmao all our bills are paid and we make over 100k a year andddd we have like a 25,000 limit on out card lol it was just crad they have excelent credit been pullin 6 figures for 2 decade's bills are never late
CIT is a PoS -
Might want to consider the current economy right now. Even with good credit, banks are hesitant as ever to lend out money.
-
yea i understand that but with excelent credit and 100k a year for over 2 decades... come on lol
lol i know first hand ive tryed for months to get a job like 50 + aplllications and many many more walk in s .... ugh -
electrosoft Perpetualist Matrixist
Well, if you're fam makes over 100k and has excellent credit, there has to be a reason they decided as they did.
Were you applying or your mom/dad? -
I applied and got the credit (6 months ago) 2000 limit and a few payments later they bumped me to 2500. Can't wait to buy my next machine from them in a few years. Other than lacking online pay and the high rates its fine service.
-
Well, he isn't the only one that got dinged for 70.00 bucks I got too. I also paid on 1/23 and the payment wasn't due till 2/5. I agreed to the 14.00 charge as well. I think what I missed and they tripped me up into was that I didn't catch the fact they said they will just put it on the account and not the check, this allowed them to say deferred and this incurred a 70.00 dollar finance charge.
So my guess is, don't make payments over the phone, mail them in as quick as you can and get documents of it showing it was sent on such date to protect yourself.
I now see just how dirty this game is played and if your not careful they trip you up. I will make sure to do 2 things, One, call them in the morning about charaging me for trying to make my payment on time, and 2nd to make sure my payment is on time every month. In other words, out the following day I get it.
In simple terms watch your butt when dealing with them.
I am also putting the scan function of my Officejet to some use. making copies of everything showing when I made the check out and also going thru the man at the post office to show when it was mailed out by having a receipt for the stamp. This way if they get any more dirty I can take them for a ride. I am also going to overpay and get this thing paid off as quickly as I can. Like the other guy said, if you can help it, don't use it. You will pay for it more then you know.
As far as the lappy goes, I am happy with it, just not the financing end of it. AW should really do something about them, Its really going to tarnish their image if it continues. -
we make 100 k a year and they turned me down
no free intrest how do you make 100k a year and turn me down for that? CIT
opps actually we tried both .......mom and dad both got urned down
edit i forgot i posted here a month ago
sucks... -
