I returned my old M17X R2 approx 45 days ago. official credit was processed on JUN 2, and I received the amount I charged on DFS account back within 3-5days after the return was processed. However, I also used a CC (AE) to pay for a portion and have not received That credit back. My CS rep explained that it may appear on the next billing cycle.. Ok... Well the billing cycle that fell within the date of the refund ended JUN 17, and now it's JUL 5(so this is the cycle it's supposed to 'appear' on), That's 33 Days since the date that it was processed. my CS rep said he would forward my concern to a CS concerns department and would get back to me with 1-2 business days, a week ago. Can't seem to get in contact with him, and the other CS reps I've spoken to have just blown me off telling me 'well, it says it was processed on JUN 2 (well duh..) and it will appear on the next cycle' Which I'm already 2+ weeks into.

So the question... How long did it take for anyone here to receive the actual credit on their CC after it was processed? Just wondering if I should wait a few more days or Put in a Dispute with AE. As most know, AE isn't a CC in the strict sense, and Dell didn't have any problems charging me for my New R2 as soon as it shipped, so having an Extra 1K being tied up isn't so hot.

I had a similar issue when i returned my M17x R2 and the cash portion did not return to my bank account for almost a month i want to say ... It can be a very slow process...

I contacted them numerous times and was told the same thing about it showing up on the next billing cycle etc...

So i would say give it a few more days...

I too am due a refund for my system. Apart from that they charged me for parts that I returned. The reps 'say' that it is showing as being re-credited on their side but that was May 15th. Soooo I think it will generally take a-while.
Your story makes me groan for me having to wait for the refund of the entire system. I did the same thing and used two credit cards for the purchase. Based on their slow return of parts charges I will assume it takes a few months. But I would bug them on a weekly until it is processed just to be sure.
Disputes can take a long time. I checked into that with these parts charges and it typically takes between 60-90days depending on the bank. If your AW rep can't help you, or tells you the same thing the last one did, ask for someone a little higher up.

may 15th? lol... I would have put in a CC dispute if it took that long. A few months is totally unacceptable for what should take 7-10 days at the most for such a large amount. It's not like we're talking about a mom-pop store here. The number of CC returns they do and process is fairly large, so they do receive priority over other companies. Also, a AE card is more or less a debit card, so I've already paid for the amount I'm being 'refunded' , so AE will have to send me a reimbursement check which will take another 2-4weeks. In any case, I'm giving them until Friday.

Yeah I know. My rep was on vacation but swears it is an accounting mistake for the parts charges still being on my CC. I did call my CC and they told me to try to work it out with the vendor first because of the fact it takes 60-90days to go through the dispute process. That's what I'm doing with the 400dollar charges. However the refund is just now being processed (started June 26th)and that is more like 5K. Two seperate but related issues.
Being that your second form of payment is a debit-type transaction, one would think that amount would be refunded first. As you said it was same as cash and paid for.
Sorry I couldn't be of any real help. Just adding my two cents on their less than stellar accounting dept.
