Touchpad freeze while I'm typing (and one second after)

    Hello I'm new here

I have a funky new m15x and everything about it is fine and dandy, maybe except for the useless tech support people on the other side of the line ;)

Only have one real issue and that is as the title says: Whenever I type (ie. press any key, use the volume slider at the top, press stealth button etc), the touchpad gets disabled. It stays disabled for a second after, as well.

It's not REALLY a problem in Windows (though it is annoying if you're used to typing and then quickly moving the mouse), but it makes gaming on the go impossible - i.e. I can't walk and look around at the same time.

I'm convinced it's gotta be some setting in Vista or the touchpad software (but I can't find either).

It's 100% fine when work with a USB mouse, it's just the touchpad that freezes.

I asked the old Roswell people, but it takes them forever to answer and then they say, could you describe it better? (treat me like some n00b)

Thanks very much to whoever can point me the right way! Much love.

Did you try updating your bios and synaptics drivers?

Oh wow, thanks bhattsan and exiled, such quick and to-the-point replies!

exiled's picture solved the problem perfectly - that's all it needed, just to nudge that bar one segment to the left. The problem is completely gone now.

This is a good forum, I shall hang around :)

A mod can close this thread now, if needed, but leave it up - I noticed saw some more people had the same problem, maybe they can Google this thread.

Do you think I got a reply from Alienware, whom I asked for help with this a week ago (!) and again this morning? NAAH!

    Thanks again dudes.
