My touchpad sucks. The pointer bounces all over the screen with no rhyme or reason. When scrolling in a document it will all of a sudden scroll from the top of the document to the bottom and back and forth at random. It is very difficult to control as it is always bouncing around the screen. Has anyone else experienced this and if so have you found a cure?

you may want to use the sticker they provided...not sure if it will help, but i know that several prior owners had issues (not quite the same) with the touchpad and they said the sticker helped a ton....well...at least resovled them. :)

I don't know about the pointer bouncing, but perhaps the scrolling problem can be due to EdgeMotion. (See attachment below.)

Can you elaborate on the behavior of your touch pad and the pointer?

I am using the sticker, much better than without but not for this issue.

I do have edge motion enabled so that I can use the right edge to scroll.

What happens is that when I am scrolling through a document using the touch pad the document will start rapidly scrolling all the way to the bottom and then back to the top and so forth. It will often scroll the entire document several times from top to bottom and back before eventually deciding to stop at some random point in the document. This is in Word and on long webpages. It seems very sensitive if I stop moving my finger and let it rest on the touch pad, this tends to trigger the above.

Hmm, disabling EdgeMotion shouldn't keep you from using the right edge to scroll. According to the description of EdgeMotion:

Maybe that has something to do with the scrolling problem.
