Trouble regarding Windows 7 and my Alienware

Hey everyone, sorry for what feels like a noob question but...

How is it that I change my theme in windows 7. I have the stock alienware aero theme that came with the machine but everytime I try and change it, all that changes is the wallpaper and sounds. I dont mind my alienware logo, but I want something slightly different in my taskbar and all over my pages. Ive tried to change to the basic aero windows themes but to no avail. Also, when I do attempt to change the theme, the task buttons stop giving me the previews, all I get is some text describing the page rather than a full visual representation. These are of course small things, but it gets rather annoying having to do a system recovery for 10 minutes pryor because of how stuborn the laptop is. So please, any help would be GREATLY appreciated!

If your computer came with AlienGuise pre-installed, try changing the theme using that.

Perhaps you should just uninstall Alienguise altogether?
I installed it once manually & found it to be more of a hassle,fonts were too small & screen alignment off.
Then i got rid of it & manually set using windows,which IMHO is way better if not more natural looking.
Anyway,you can reinstall back Alienguise from Dell website
if you still want it,so don't worry.my 2 cents...

To get the aero "peek" feature (where you see a picture instead of text) you will need to have windows "aero" theme activated.

You can change stuff by personlising whatever you want really....right click on the desktop, choose personalize and your set to go.

Alternatively, go to control panel>appearance and you can change stuff there...

Go to start >type: aero>then click on ''find and fix problem with transparency and other visual effects''> click next.

i would have done it the long way and backed up all my files, and just reformat the sucker with normal windows 7.
