    I do exactly as it appears in zfactor's gudie but I only get this (pic below) when I boot from usb flash.. i use he's bootme files??

    hmmm i did what he says exactly with his modified bios files and works , only problem is windows deactivated.

    have 28 days to activate windows , uninstall and reinstall windows maybe resolve this but i dont want it now :)

    there is always other ways you know :)

    no simply call ms and tell them you did a bios update and choose the activate over phone method its because the alienware bios has a oem slic which matches the cert installed in your vista the ocz one does not match. but i could fix that.. i can add he aw slic to the ocz bios lol but im not supposed to

    Now i have tried another usb mem.. and now the boot working but it boot with c: (pic below) ?? can find a: with bios 028 directory.. does any one know whats wrong? please help..

    did you copy the bios files from my .rar after it was extracted to the usb stick? if not that is the problem

    So you mean that I should copy the bios files, after I created the bootable usbstick? ..
    1: first in use HP usbflash utility with bootme dos files to create the bootable usbstick ..
    2: and then extract the bios files into the stick by just drag them into the stick or could place in them in a folder? is that right?

    I have done like this.. i have but the biosfiles into a folder and then into the same folder as bootfiles and then i have created the bootable usbstick or els i can't fint the biosfiles when i'm in dos.. mybe i was doing wrong? :confused:


    I am sorry to nag about this .. but I am really grateful for all the help I get from you guys .. :eek:

    turn the computer over, remove the battery.. write down that MS Key and then activate vista :)

    e he shouldnt have to do that. just go to where it says activate now. then select over phone pick your region and it will give you numbers call the 800 number and put those in it will give you another set to type in. normally even if tried to use the key on the bottom that checks for the dell or aw (have not checked yet) slic table in the bios it will not activate automatically for him. all dell's do as do hp etc they check for the poper slic and the matching cert installed with vista and on some systems like dell they also check the asset tag in the bios.. thats how they oem activate.

    ill see if i can correct the bios to fix this so you guys dont have to go through that again. i need a link to the aw bios though from someone to tear it down. or if someone can send it to me. this is nothing illegal either ill simply correct the slic table for aw owners and have a different bios for them which will not work to activate on the ocz not to hard to do.

    Well I can provide u with the B10 AW bios. Hope it works like that .. might have to do it differently if it doesn't.

    yes i have it now i have not had time to look at it this weekend yet ill try to see tomm morning what i can do with it. should not be to hard depends on what alienware does with their bios and if its locked or not.. if its like dell's ones then i will not be able to extract what i need from it. dell uses asset tags instead of the normal way of the slic table. but i would prob still be able to change the ocz one... let me play with it for a while to see what i can figure out

    edit i just looked over the b10 and i actually dont even see a bios file in their?? there should be a image file of some sort and i dont see anything in there like a normal bios file. ill see more tomm as i said but i may have to do this another way if possible. i may need some info from you shockwave if you are willing

    ill try to work on this during the weekend i have everything i need if it can be done. only problem is it looks like the aw bios is locked with insyde so i may not be able to mod it. though i may be able to add info to the ocz ill be looking at it this weekend.

    Thx zfactor, I will be waiting for your response to flash my bios.

    BTW, if I do a clean instal of Vista after flashing my BIOS, I would get the problem with the Vista registration?

    just use the key on the bottom of the notebook during install and it should be fine

    I followed the guide in your sig but when I write refresh it tells my worng command and then when I write phlash16 it shows a message that states: couldnt open/load a file called BIOS.WPH

    any idea? thx for your help
