Hey, I'm having a major problem with my m15x. The screen's casing on the bottom left corner is cracking like crazy and is busting open the more I use it!

I tried removing the black lid part but I cant. Even after I unscrewed everything, the lid stays tight and wont come off. There must be plastic clips but I have no idea where they are.

How do I open my alienware screen? Please help! I want to see how I can fix this thing.

you can get it fixed by sending it to AW

After you remove all the screws surrounding the screen then it will POP off ... be careful when popping it off though.

The back lid is attached to the hinges, which are attached to the screen.
The front bezel is what comes off first. Then screws inside, then the back panel will come off.
Take it apart, figure out what exactly is broken, then buy parts on eBay as replacements.

IF YOU DON'T KNOW WHAT YOU'RE DOING, I'D SUGGEST HAVING SOMEONE WHO DOES KNOW WHAT THEY'RE DOING DO THIS FOR YOU. If you don't have a friend who has experience taking apart laptops, you should take it to a local computer shop.

This seems much more complicated than I thought. The screen works, but it is just the hinge on the bottom left that is starting to break. It is constantly producing crums of plastics and a large creak or gap is visible in the back of the hinge. Especially visible when the laptop is closed.

I will post pictures shortly or later this evening when I get the chance.

    And also, I don't know what I'm doing. :(

I would send it out. My HP had a similar problem, parts alone would have gotten up towards 300 so i just had my warranty cover it and go without for 2 weeks, the risk of cracking the LCD is too high.

And why don't you have warranty? AW will probably still repair it for a fee. But is best to have them do it. They should warranty the work they do for you if they do fee based repairs.

Dude, it's a common issue, you don't have to post pics.

its a very very common problem with the 15x, either send to AW and get it fixed, regardless of warrenty

or you can try a home fix, but that is very unlikley to work long term

Why is that very unlikely to work long term? Alienware isn't magic, they would just replace the parts same as anyone else... and charge you three times what the parts and labor are worth.
