So, not only have I already had my SD card reader break (Dell/AW refused to fix it). But now I have another problem...

Anyone see the problem there? The black piece that holds the connectors in place is missing on the left USB slot. One of the connectors is bent now because I inserted my Razer Lachesis mouse into the slot without realizing it was missing. This is the first time I've used the slot so I think it could have been missing from the start, as those things are probably pretty hard to knock out.

Think Dell/AW will own up and replace this?

Umm, it's an M17X (forgot to mention that... sorry) from June 25th (haha... stupid Windows 7 deal) so yeah... I've got a warranty on it.
Think I should be okay to get a technician in?

Because you are still under warranty I don't think you should have a problem getting a tech to come out and fix it.

Awesome, I've had a kind of crappy time with the hardware (SD and USB breaking) and hopefully if I get them to come out for the USB, I'll pay for the SD card replacement at the same time.

So I called AW and it looks like they're going to replace my whole motherboard (because the USB is integrated, I assume), what other components are going to be replaced?

Also, has anyone been able to have other broken parts replaced after the guy has showed up (ex. a broken SD card reader :p) just like, get the guy to put another order through on the spot and pay for the component that broke and not have to pay for the travel or time?

Ive had my motherboard replaced. Its not that bad. The motherboard is probably the only thing that will be replaced.

No. Dell only sends the technician the parts they think need to be replaced. They don't have any other spare parts with them, usually. So if you call Dell, tell them your card reader also doesn't work and any other issues you may have and they'll send the technician the proper parts and instructions of what's wrong. If the problem isn't solved by replacing the parts the technician is sent, the technician analyzes the problem, calls Dell and has them ship her/him the (hopefully) proper parts with which she/he returns as soon as she/he gets them.
