    Is this possible?

If I make a copy of the alienware m11x OS to USB and then transfer the OS to DVD on my other laptop who's got a dvd writer?

That way I wouldn't lose my 8gb flash drive.

Can't you rip the installation disk and burn it to a DVD all on your other laptop? Never done this before so I'm just throwing out ideas lol.

But if I make a back up with the dell software, doesn't it make a backup of the alienware theme as well? Which is the reason why I would do it that way,...

I want it the OS to be as day 1 I've booted it, with alienware theme, login etc

Just use Windows backup program. It'll make a folder with the image of your OS in it. But I think it'll be bigger than 8 gigs.

The Alienware theme can be setup on Win7 in 5 mins. If you're doing fresh Win install, time spent setting up Alienware theme is negligible.

You can make a partition image as TimeConsumer suggested; I keep those on my bigger partition. (my C: drive is 40GB, D: drive 180GB).
