On my quote page where i ordered my laptop it said this
    17.0" WideUXGA 1920 x 1200 - Beyond HD (1200p) - RGB LED

But i just went to tracking page of my build order and u can see the list of hardware for your M17X it had this listed as LCD

    59 17.0 " UltraSharp™ WUXGA (1920x1200) WLED Display with TrueLife™

Is that the RGB or the old LCD??? i dont want to start a panic but i think i am getting screwed here

Yeah the WLED is letting you know its the RGB since the other 1920x1200 screen is LCD...

There is no WLED option for the M17x ... There is 1440x900 LCD 1920x1200 LCD and 1920x1200 RGB LED...

Go to your order confirmation page you got and it should show this...

    1 320-8856 17-inch WideUXGA 1920 x 1200 RGB LED (1200p)

They don't have WLED for m17x. Maybe it's another invoice error, like they had GDDR5 for ATi 4870s, from last year. lol

Sounds like Dell is playing the same game as with the 4870s GDDR 5 announcement. I don't think you will get the wrong display according to Dell. There was no LED option for R1 so the only remaining question is whether or not the screen is RGB LED as promised/announced.

WLED? What part number are you seeing on your build page? It would be nice if Dell did start offering a 1440x900 WLED since LG offers one in 16:10.

More likely Dell is offering WLED named RGB LED. Will know in a few days for sure.

It probably is RGB LED but they just invoice it as WLED in Australia.

    The Dutch site only says;

    WUXGA Dual CCFL

    Is that LED?

The reason for my doubts was the low price for the RGB LED option over the 1200p LCD (50$ is ridiculous). I still think there's a catch. Dell would advertise it as the best of the best and charge accordingly (200$ more be the right price IMHO).
Anyways, we'll have to wait and see.

Well on the M6500 its like $110.00 to go from WUXGA LCD to RGB LED..

There buisiness line is always much higher pricing so id say $50.00 is just fine :)...

the reason for my doubt is that we get RGB already included with starting price. I know that US had to pay more for it, so i initially though, sweet, RGB without extra cost.

Right now i am going over the phone with dell to make sure i get no hiccups with my screen. i need to be 100%

Lol i did look at the price upgrades and the only thing i saw that was a good price was the CPUs ... $740 for the best GPU boy what a bargain lol... $135 to go from 2 gigs to 4 gigs another real bargain ? .. Not to mention the base starting price machine is $2749.00... The real difference is they have standard 3 year NBD...

Did i miss something in your comment lol ?...

I assume its a error. The system is still being updated.

It says the screen is RGB on the customization site. So if it isnt its false advertising.

Its default on the customization i doubt there can be much human error...Anyway call them tommorrow..Tell me what they say too...Im paying for mine in two days and Im hoping im getting what i pay for...not something else.

Mine says similar. Different part number (Which would be obvious since its a different Country.) I think he has a error. Mine order clearly says RGB screen

if you don't see "RGB" anywhere on the line that describes your monitor, on your order status page, you have a problem and need to call Dell.

here's what you should see if you live in the united states:

    1 320-8856 17-inch WideUXGA 1920 x 1200 RGB LED (1200p)

Hi guys, I am about to order the new M17x from dell UK and the rep told me there will not offer any more RGB LED to UK customers and about to call the people that ordered that screen to offer them the standered CCFL screen instead!!
I asked also for the i7 720qm and he said they pulled it out from the ordering because its conflicting ( he said somthing about the freq. and the memory )!!
I am not sure if what he said is correct, I just wanted to share this with you.

<< Wow, the prices have changed, now it's a 100$ to go from 1200P LCD to RGB LED in Canada...Hmmm. Looks real to me.
