I don't actually own an Alienware but heard there were heat issues in the m15x and I was wondering if anyone found a way to undervolt their GPU. PM me if so.

That link goes to a tutorial about CPU undervolting.

Use nibitor and nvflash to modify your video card BIOS with the new values and to flash again... I don't see any use in undervolting though you might suffer some performance issues.

May reduce heat and lengthen its life.

But I never do it though.

It's very easy to dump, modify, and re-flash an Nvidia BIOS. Thing is...I've never heard of anyone wanting to undervolt a GPU. Usually folks overvolt so the GPU will run stable at higher clocks.

I was trying to make it run cooler. It works wonders for the CPU.

Undervolting the GPU is not a good idea and might cause a lot of issues. Hence why not many people do that.

How is undervolting the GPU helps the CPU ? :)

I think he means that undervolting the CPU helps cool it immensly. Mine runs 18 C cooler :) And completely stable

Yeah, you'd have to run a program to stress the CPU intentionally. 55C is a drop in the bucket compared to what Orthos will heat it up to.

Why run programs you wouldnt normally run just to raise the temps ? :p For stability testing sure, but other than that theres no reason, usually i just leave HWMonitor running for 2 days and after that i check the min/max temps :p
