    Hey everyone,
Long time reader here first time poster. Im hoping you can help me here. So I got my M17 a few months back for video editing and noticed that it doesnt seem to support SxS Media cards (Sonys new Solid State drives that plug into the 34 express card slot). After installing the drivers and inserting the card my m17 only occasionaly recognises it. It starts to stutter very badly and keeps picking up and loosing the card. Ive tested the card and express card slot with other devices and proven they are both working. Now im aware of the common stuttering problem with the m17 but this is not the same as it only happens when I insert the SxS card. Hoping someone knows or has seen this before . Thanks in advance.

    Welcome to the forums OatesyX.

Only some of the M17's with a quad core get the occasional stuttering and is not related to the stuttering that you mention.

As Rose listed above, those are the only media cards supported by the reader in the M17.

It also could be that there is a driver issue with the express card you are using. You may want to contact the vender of that card to see how you can get it functioning properly.

    Good luck.

Express Card != Media Card slot.

Is most likely either a BIOS or driver issue if I had to venture a guess. Possibly it is an issue with the drive only being recognized on boot up and/or not being able to hot plug? Remember it is essentially connecting via the PCI-e bus.

Marvie you are correct about the card. These are Sonys new card for recording to Professional High Def cameras. From my understanding they connect using the PCI-E interface bus. This has nothing to do with the media card reader but rather the 54 Express Card slot. Apologies for not making myself more clear.
I have tried it on xp,vista and even Mac OSX on my m17. I have managed to get it to pick up the device once but with a Device Error 10 (Device cannot start). My guy says this is a bios problem of some kind as there should be no reason that it is incompatable with an express card slot. Thanks for the replys.
