    don't do it
for the same price I can get a laptop with

    4x the ram
    2x the hard drive
    dvd burner
same graphics card that's a little faster
    better resolution
    better battery life
    better weight
    cheaper warranties
I thought about the base too, it's not worth it dont do it dont dont it will suck you in to the evil pit of no return

I don't recommend going with the base m15x it is way overpriced. You might want to take a look at the Dell XPS m1530. You get better specs at lower cost. The only advantage the base m15x has over the m1530 is that it's upgradable.

I agree, is too bulky for a 8600. You can get a true 15" portable for less money same specs.

PS Couldn't make out this one though:

the base m15x is definitley not worth it. at least get a 8700 if you are getting a m15x. i would definitley recommend the m1530 if you are getting a 8600. the only thing that you should watch out for if you are getting the m1530 is if you get a samsung screen.

Alienware gives you the 8600 GT which should be a bit better for games and such but still, m15x shouldn't be bought with the 8600, is just to big and heavy if you're not going 8800 (in my opinion). And if you have money to get cool keyboar, lights and stuff just ditch those and upgrade the graphic card :D.

NO the t61p's 256mb graphics card, the 570, is the 8600g but with faster clocks
