I've had my alienware m15x for about a year now ( think i bought it last year in june or july ) but i haven't updated it once, I am sure that within a year updates would of come out, right? Although i am scared to go to the nvidia website and download drivers for my 8800M GTX because someone told me that i should always keep the drivers the same with laptops...

So is their any update for any parts of my alienware from last year? And if so where should i get them. Specs:

    8800M GTX
    Windows vista home edition
    2.5 T9300
    2gb ram
    120gb hard drive.

    Thankyou!

I would recommend getting more recent video drivers from laptopvideo2go.com. If you are already on the x32 bios I would recommend not updating that as it's the best bios overall (for non extreme users)

should be in your system information (just type "system" into the vista search bar and it'll pop up).

    thanks, it says

    BIOS Version/Date: Quanta vX32 P3, 11/04/2008

    Also on laptopvideo2go i found http://laptopvideo2go.com/drivers/vista/185.66
and i think it's the latest one.

But when i try to install it it says it's not compatible..

yeah well you have to use the modded .inf. on a side note, you're better served with Dox' 185.20, or nvidia's 179.28.

here's the direct link for the nvidia driver: http://www.nvidia.com/object/geforce_notebook_winvista_179.48_beta.html

that one will work out of the box, so to speak. if you want a driver from ltv2go, you'll need to download the driver, and the modded .inf right next to it. there's actually a nice walkthrough for the whole process right next to the download links.
