I have an Alienware D9T (not too sure what exact model Alienware calls it) and most of the keyboard doesn't work. I went through the Q&A on their support site and it says to update the keyboard with their BIOS update but it doesnt seem to work.
I have confirmed that the driver needs to be updated but i ran the setup and it did nothing. Any suggestions?
Also, Alienware won't help me because I bought this from a friend and they say the warranty is non-transferable which doesn't matter since it's expired. They won't answer any of my questions.

So part of your keyboard is not functioning?
Your D9T is the Clevo D900T, or Alienware M7700.

You can try updating the keyboard BIOS through a USB memory card. The guy to talk to is Gophn on this, I will flag him over here.

In basics, have you spilled anything on the keyboard?
and did the keyboard just randomly stop working?

Have you tried reconnecting the keyboard to the motherboard?
It is very simple. Use a flathead screwdriver and push on the 4 pins which hold the keyboard down. (these 4 pins are above the F1-F12 set of keys) The keyboard will pop up. There is a small connector near the touchpad, which interfaces the keyboard to the motherboard. You want to remove this, and reconnect it properly. Please tell us if that works for you.

I have a few spare D900T/D900K keyboards lying around if you need one

It didn't work when I got it, I tried one I got off eBay and that worked worse. I have a replacement for that coming either today or tomorrow, I'll let you know how that goes.

I just got my new keyboard a few minutes ago and connected it, it works perfectly! I can't test some buttons (F1, F10, F12) since I don't know any use outside of games for them. So the problem Was the keyboards and not the bios. would you recommend I upgrade it anyways or follow the " If it's not broke, don't fix it" rule?

Do not upgrade the keyboard bios if the new one is working fine.

K, I don't have any flash drives that load on boot anyways so i wouldn't be able to upgrade it.
