Yesterday i tried using the Hdmi output, and i could not really get it to work the way i wanted.

I plug't in the caple to my tv and my desktop showed up on both screens.

I want it to be on just one screen so it is'nt showing up on my computerscreen so i can flip between those two using the buttons "Fn - F6".

Also i wanted the Alien Fx light to turn off by using the "Fn- F11", but nothing happend, so i went to command center to manually choose the black colour for the keyboard. but thats kind a stupid eh. :)

Anybody had the same issue or know what to do about these things?

Well, this might not be much of help but you can always try to right click on the alienFX icon in your task bar and press on go dark. If that icon is not on your task bar Fn + F11 wont do anything at all, since its a custom command which the alienFX controller captures.

There is one option in NVIDIA Control Panel, where you can set just one display. Check the one you need. Fn -F6 will start working as your needs.

When using my external screen I right click on the desktop>nvidia control panel> multiple displays> un check the notebook display and leave the external one hooked up.
I did run into issues with it over scanning and not scaling properly with HDMI to HDMI and i got tired of tweaking it to get it to properly fit the screen. So I just got the HDMI to DVI converter and havent looked back.

its possible! you have to change the resolution in the nvidia control panel. then you have to make sure you set the hdmi as the primary sound out put. with the nvidia cards the hdmi audio is a little more difficult to get working then the ATi cards.

Can you please elaborate on the change of resolution in the Nvidia control panel to get sound through HDMI?

I have never been able to get sound through the HDMI and it is very frustrating.

If you can, please provide the steps you used to get sound through your HDMI on the m17x with Nvidia 260m's

    Thanks,
    Frank

on the nvidia control panel click on resolution and it should be set on 1920 x 1080 if on a 1080p tv. change the refresh rate to something the tv can't handle. after the 15 seconds it will revert to what you had it before and the sound will start playing again. i know it kinda weird but it works. make sure in the resolution options it say use hdmi with audio. i am on drivers 195.xx too. i also have the laptop screen off as well.
