    Hi there-

When I first received my laptop I could connect it to a monitor and have both screens going, or choose just to have the larger monitor on (using fn f1 key)

But now, everytime I start a game the monitor shuts off and it kicks back to the laptop screen. After the game is running I still cannot get the external monitor to work.

I haven't installed any software I can think off that might cause this- is anyone else having this issue?

    Thanks,
    Beniah

    Specs- M11 X
    OC processor
    4 Gig ram
    250 gig hd

Check in your display when you have it connected. Right click ont he desktop and then click "Screen Resolution" Check your settings in there. May help.

Thank you- I have checked and fiddled with it a bit-

It says reccomended settings are 1900 by 600 (or something like that) when the monitor is engaged

Right now, the laptop resolution is 1366x768

Do I need to find a resolution that both screens can handle, you think?

FN+F1 while the external is connected. Continue to depress, pausing for a moment between each press - should display on both.

Right- thanks Batboy- but my issue is that it works until I start a game, at which time the external monitor shuts off and it goes back to the laptop screen.

This continues on and on, regardless of how often or how slow I push the FN+F1 buttons.

    My apologies beniah...

Have you ever been able to output a game to both at the same time? With a game going, I don't know if this is possible since its going to be so intesive... For slideshows, browsing, etc., I can see it - but... not sure.

Thanks Batboy- well it used to work with both for gaming- but now it only works on the laptop monitor--I don't think anything major has changed so I'm pretty damned puzzled.

I've been looking around and I can't seem to figure this out ;)

Ok - try this... check the NV Control Panel - verify the game is set to 'Multi Display'. See attached image - its from my M17x since I am on that system at the moment, but the option for multiple displays is the same.

Next step - Reinstall the display driver. See if that helps.
