    Hey guys,

I fixed my laptop. It was a hardware problem when I switched OSs. I think I'm going to completely wipe it, reload all the original software on it, clean it up (it's not dirty, I'll just wipe it down) and sell it. I'll probably build a desktop since I don't need a laptop anymore. What do you think one would sell for. The specs are in my signature, I'll always had it on a cooler pad (will go with the laptop and the case is in perfect condition. I'm just trying to get an estimate to list it at.

Probably not even half what you bought it for I'm sorry to say it. Anyone who knows about the hinge problems will stay well away, and the warranty is non-transferrable anyway.

Put it on ebay. You should get a least 300-400 dollars with the specs in your sig. The rest is up to you to decide what to spend on your new desktop.

personal its up to you, how much you want for it. I sold mine with almost same specs except i had 8800m gtx and 320 hdd for $800 w/ cooler and a few games. sold through craigslists. just post how much you want for it and wait for offers to come in. i think you can sell for around $600 easy.

Thanks, guys. Yeah, I'm not expecting much. :) We are just trying to squeeze any money we can get out of some stuff. These are good numbers to start. I'm worried about being able to recover any old data off the hard drive also? Is there a way to do a good enough wipe to keep that from happening?

For that price I'd just keep it. You put the work in to make it right. Enjoy it.

It's not impossible. I see them go for 1800-2100 on the bay if it's the same laptop in your sig.

Yep that's in my sig. I'll look into it but I think I need to see the RBG in real life first if the new M17x does have that display.
