idk, what it is, Everyday, not doin anything wierd or stupid or out of the ordinary, i get "Program Not Responding" almost everyday, i keep getting CPU Useage at 100%. I defrag regularly, i run virus scans, i do disk cleanup and CCleaner.

These things happen All the time, and its Very annoying.

Dont get me wrong, i love the computer, its was great when i first got it, best iv ever had or even seen.
It still works amazingly, and it would be perfect without these problems.

Still using Vista, upgrading to Win7 when i finnally get it >.<

Anything i can do to improve performance and stop these problems? (If not completely, at least get them alot less frequent)

    Thanks in advance

This is more of a Windows questions than anything else.

-Does it happen to a specific program or all programs?
-Have you tried going into msconfig and disabling startup programs one at a time to check if any of those are causing the issue?
-Same as the last question but with drivers. Start testing by disabling them in device manager.

Most of the time this type of issue can be tracked backed to the last thing you installed.

One trick I do is use a secondary Hard drive and install windows on it. If none of Mandrake idea work.

Actually, just a heads up, I have the exact same issue and it isn't restricted to one or two applications, I've had it happen on just about everything, including the regular Windows Explorer. Firefox, Internet Explorer, even GPU-Z/CPU-Z, just about every program I have has fallen under it. Normally it's whatever window is active. I noticed also, go figure, that when I have the DPC tool running, guess what, there is normally a spike around 60k avg right about the time the app stops working.

Here's a post of mine regarding the whole issue, as well as another here.

Also, this was finally addressed on several community portals after myself as well as a few others posted some information and complaints to Endgadget.

Dell's response on these forums: http://forum.notebookreview.com/showthread.php?t=435569.

i would recommend removing the command center and maybe rolling back some of the drivers to see if that is it

I know the newest chipset and wireless drivers from dell really screwed my system up in windows 7

On a side not, if you are going to upgrade to 7 anyway, just do it and enjoy the speed of a fresh OS install instead of getting frustrated trying to fix vista so that you can replace it
