Hello, I am not only new to this forum (I have been reading it for the past weeks) but I am also new to alienware.

My m15x came today and it was flawless, I checked it inside and out, nothing. I am very pleased as I have been reading some horror stories here.

For any of you guys that are ordering one or have one in order: I actually went out of my way and emailed AW to take their time with my m15x and did not email them once about anything, and I got a perfectly solid system, haha, could this be coincidence? I don't know, just giving you guys a heads up.

I will post some pics soon, and will try my best to write a passable review. I can promise that it wont be as good as the ones I have read here though.

BTW, I ordered on the 1st of May and it took just over 22 days to get to me.

Very glad to hear that, Alex. Let's hope that with time you don't notice the development of any downclocking or other problems.

thanks for the good news alex.

I was just wondering, since you got yours in 22 days, when was the ETA when you ordered it? did it come early?

I believe it was the 19th or something around there, I got an email about missing parts that were in order so I did not expect it this soon.

Well, I don`t mean to scare you, but most of the issues appear after starting to use it.
Make sure to give it a good run down, if it lives up to the expectation, you may very well be the happiest m15x owner around :)

Well, that's really good to hear!

I gotta admit, I love the idea of buying a m15x in August-September-ish, around that time, but I really do hope they sort out all the problems it has.
GPU and CPU downclock, hinges, melting (!), stuff like that.

Anyways, congrats! Nice to see somebody who's happy with their computer, after all the horror stories around!

    Thanks for the nice welcome.

I took some really quick pics, here they are.

I pretty much maxed it out except I have 2GB instead of 4. I am hoping this lasts at least until my senior year of college (presently a sophomore).

I am setting apart sometime during this week and will really test this system out and get back to you guys.

    Some first impressions
    1. It is heavier than I expected and a lot thicker than it appears in pictures
    2. The touch-pad and rocker take a bit to get used to. There is a sticker that you can place over the touch-pad, but with the glossy finish, it does not look good at all.
    3. The volume slider requires a lot of pressure
    4. The power button is extremely sensitive.
    5. The white lights are pretty nuch useless as every color bleeds through.
The only problem I have had so far is the bleeding through of colors when the white light is selected.
    6. I was hoping the "black light" was actually a black/dark grey light. Its pretty much nothing.

nice pics. i dont think i have the same problem with the white lights. i think i could take some pics to show you guys, but then again my laptop has been off for the past 12 days since im still waiting for the fan and heat sink from AW to put in my laptop :(

if only black lights were possible, but black as a light color is impossible. black by definition is the absence of light so yea you get the point :D

have you checked around for gaps and scratches?

EDIT: can you show us a picture of how your white looks when you do your review
