Is the Catalyst Control Center 9.4 with Video Driver 8.6 compatible with the Mobility Radeon Hd 3870 in Crossfirex... I ask because the site only says Radeon Hd 3870 not Mobility Radeon 3870...when downloaded in the driver area again no Mobility Radeon hd 3870. Are they same thing or is one for desktop and Mobility for my M17? I know alienware offered the 5.7 Mobility Radeon Hd 3870 driver which I installed. Just dont want to install the wrong drivers!! Ya know!! Thanks for the help!!

you need to mobility mod, or use E's drivers.

Huh...the actual Mobility Radeon 3000 series drivers are available for Windows 7 from ATI.com. Not for vista though.

As whizzo mentioned, if you get the desktop version of 9.4, and use Mobility Modder, you'll be good to go.

Sorry I meant I have 8.57 from the alienware site not 5.7, I also have 9.4 catalyst but not the driver because it did not have Mobility Radeon HD 3870, only the Radeon HD 3870. I guess I will have to do an install to the E's Drivers but I swear there was nothing in his either for the mobility Radeon HD 3870 only the Mobility Radeon HD 3870 X2. Can I use this maybe? Or is there one specifically for what I have? I don't think I have the Mobility Radeon HD 3870 X2!! All I have is 2 Mobility Radeon HD 3870 in Crossfirex!! Is this the same as the Mobility Radeon HD 3870 X2 driver? Sorry for all the questions really new at this!!

E's drivers are for these cards. So you'll be good to go.

Desktop cards have a 3870X2 which is one card with 2 GPU's on it.

The Mobility HD 3870 X2 is 2 cards, Crossfired...which is what you have.
