I was wondering what the CPU voltage difference is between an m17 and an m17x. I was thinking about upgrading from a 2.4 ghz q9000 oc of course to a qx9300 that I am told will do 3.2 stabl
e in an m17. First I would like to hear from the people that have upgraded to a qx9300 from a q9000 if you can notice a difference. I would also like to know if this chip will do the same in the m17x 3.2 that is... I can pick the chip up for 420 or so. Is it worth the upgrade. Opinions please as u know it is very subjective...thanks

the qx9300 will make it to 3.2 if the chip is good it all come down to your luck in the end
btw oem are more likely to go to 3.2 then es

mine is perfectly stable stock with 4850 cfx
only it don't suport overclocking really far somethinglike 2.3ghz with setfsb after that i get a bsod and with intel xtu i go to 2.1 over that it takes to much voltage to go up again

I just played Borderlands for about an hour at 3.5Ghz with high video settings. I still recommend the T9900. ;)

I wouldn't recommended it. Go with the T9900 from HP Canada.

The T9900 uses less power which is needed in the M17 and it OC's better in the M17x, at least from my testing.
