I opened the bottom of the laptop today and noticed that the blue wire connected to the wifi card was not connected to anything but the other two were! My question is should it be connected and if so where does it connect to?

Well does your Wi-Fi work? If it does then you shouldn't worry about anything. Also what laptop do you have?

this is common with m15x units. my guess is that originally, they had a mini-PCIe Bluetooth card that needed the antenna connection, but for some reason, never removed the antenna... but they did switch to a USB alternative to the Bluetooth card. (probably takes less power)

Actually, it's because the m15x has the Intel 4965, which supports three antennae, unlike the Intel 3945 and earlier, which only supported two. I would imagine that the chassis hasn't been updated to figure out a dedicated location for the third antenna (I don't know what other manufacturers do), so they've left it to sit at the bottom of the system.
