Just installed Win 7 Beta on my other computer (M17) but cannot get on the internet. Device Manager is showing yellow on
Base system Device
Ethernet Controller
Network Controller
SM Bus Controller
Cannot update drivers since not on the net. What needs to be done?
-
Download the drivers on another computer, move it over via CD or flash drive, and install like that.
-
no dual-boot?
-
My mistake. Should have dual booted but did not think i would have a problem getting on the net.
-
lol nice win 7 is awomse please tell us how the support of SSD is since it seems to be optimized for the m
and put them on a jump drive get them off AW site they work perfect
-
Where do i get the Win 7 drivers?
-
just use the respective (32bit or 64bit) vista drivers from the manufacturers' websites.
-
And if it says "it's incompatible", run it in compatibilty mode. Thats what I did.

Hope that helps

any vista driver will work
-
Thanks guys but think i am out of luck. My first Win 7 beta download was corrupt which is why it didn't include the ethernet drivers. Tried to download a fresh version but Microsoft has closed the download site.

You can use the drivers from the AW webside ... they work (in compatibility mode) perfect under W7! I don't even use dualboot ... just W7 on my M17 here

Julian
PS: the 3DMark06 scores in my sig are mad on W7 -
Cheers -
64bit ones *klick*
32bit ones *klick'
Actually you do not need all ... W7 has some newer drivers included than AW ... but the installer will tell you
Good luck!

yea right click property and thin run in compatability mode for windows vista....BTW windows 7 is what vista dreamed of being ...
-
i agree. Win7 pwns the living daylights out of vista.

-
no no no
win 7> xp>vista -
This whole idea that XP is better is such a misguided concept, it's right alongside the people who think 2000 is better than XP because it uses less resources. -
W7 > Vista > XP
