Just installed Win 7 Beta on my other computer (M17) but cannot get on the internet. Device Manager is showing yellow on
    Base system Device
    Ethernet Controller
    Network Controller
    SM Bus Controller

Cannot update drivers since not on the net. What needs to be done?

Download the drivers on another computer, move it over via CD or flash drive, and install like that.

just use the respective (32bit or 64bit) vista drivers from the manufacturers' websites.

Thanks guys but think i am out of luck. My first Win 7 beta download was corrupt which is why it didn't include the ethernet drivers. Tried to download a fresh version but Microsoft has closed the download site.

Don't give up ... I tryed it more than 20 times ... (it's like with world of warcraft: never play on patch day ;) )

You can use the drivers from the AW webside ... they work (in compatibility mode) perfect under W7! I don't even use dualboot ... just W7 on my M17 here

    Greetings
    Julian

PS: the 3DMark06 scores in my sig are mad on W7 :)

The only drivers that I had to run in troubleshoot mode were chipset (SMbus) and WLAN ones

    Cheers

I just installed every driver like this :)

    64bit ones *klick*
    32bit ones *klick'

Actually you do not need all ... W7 has some newer drivers included than AW ... but the installer will tell you :)

    Good luck!
    Greetings
    Julian

Then I guess you don't know much about the improvements in Vista over XP.
This whole idea that XP is better is such a misguided concept, it's right alongside the people who think 2000 is better than XP because it uses less resources.
