For some reason, the warranty options on he dell and alienware sites have changed. I am unable to select anything aside from the basic service plan.

I am planning to try to order tomorrow, but i want to get the advanced service plan. I will be using the phone so do you think that i can just ask for it over the phone, or are they not offering anything but the basic service plan anymore for some reason.

i figure that they are just updating the site, but just in case someone out there heard something that i havn't, let me know.

    thanks in advance.

I would say yes, I called about a week ago and they were still available. Dell/AW's website is sketchy at best, I have no options on warranty extensions at all online. Half the time I can't even view service/order information. Just call.

you can not select a different warranty when buying through the promotional offer for the back to school events. Afaik, its a special price, so you may not be able to change this option. Phone agents usually have more options when building the computer, so there's a chance it's possible. However, the normal online configurator allows you to select the different warranty plans. You just need to go to dell.com instead of the alienware site to do this.

Well, im not using the back to school offer. just the straight dell epp site. Im planning on calling anyways so ill just get them to change it to advanced when i speak with a rep.

i figure its just a problem with the site since they are always switching things around. not a big deal. i was really just wondering if anyone had heard something about it that i had not.

www.dell.com/eppbuy warranty options work for me... they're not in a nice collapsible format but they're there. You should be able to change it over the phone anyway.
