Got around 10 days or so left on my current warranty and was told by Dell that if I wanted my Alienware warranty extended, that I needed to do it before the current one expires.

I put in a warranty extension request via the website yesterday and hadn't yet heard back from Dell (why doesn't the website just let me order the extension???) so checked the website today out of curiosity and noticed my warranty is now expired on my machine even though it was due to expire on the 6th May.

Not happy about this. While I'm sure they may fix it, I'm now stuck unable to speak to anyone until next week. Has anyone else had this kind of issue? Thanks.

Lol, what a coincidence. Somebody may be trying to screw you over. You need to call them first thing Monday.

Yup definitely call them. I called in to extend my M18x's warranty just to be sure something like this wouldn't happen.

Can you give a bit more detail about this? My warranty is about to expire too...

How much would it be to extend the warranty for 1 year? I was going to get a Squaretrade warranty because I can get them for half price, but depending on the cost of an additional year I may opt to just buy it at the end of the year.

    Around $400 USD.

It's always best (and MUCH less expensive) to get a 4-year warranty on a new machine at the time of placing the order. You can just about get 4 years on a new machine for the price of a 1-year extension on an existing machine.
