Does this happen often? Does that mean they are making significant changes? hmmm... speculations. Currently it is 11:43PM Central Time on March 1.

 

I think they're just undergoing maintenance as it says. I wouldn't get to excited.

 

haha no worries. I don't really care. I'm only buying a laptop in July or maybe a bit later if montevina comes out. But I like to get others excited.

Who knows, maybe the m17x is coming? But I think that if Alienware IS making a change to the website, it's probably something like the black version of the m15x.

 

I'd guess that they're adding the m17x, the full configurator for the m15x, or removing the m9750.

 

But once again, they don't need to shut down the entire server to do that...i dunno

 

Isn't it a little odd that only the .com and .co.uk sites are off for maintenance but the .com.au site isn't ? Maybe they were waiting for the UK to catch up and then chose to release the new cases/m17x..
Don't know how the seperate branches work so just a thought..

 

But Spain, Germany, and France also are down..

it wouldn't matter anyway - they're closed until monday and your orders would not be processed and your order changes wouldn't take place until then.
So hitting refresh wont do any good ;( You could order NOW, or tomorrow.. either way it will be processed on the same day(monday).

They just added some info about binaryfx when customizing the m15x. Thats the only difference I see. But is this why the website was down?!!

Someone is overzealous these days. These kind of threads should be closed. I remember a week or so ago another member created a similar thread (someone had problems with the site) yet nothing happened. I'd say someone should get a life.

 

I disagree, that's not for anyone to decide I guess it has something to do with the demand, if no one is interested then the thread will die by itself. As a matter of fact you are also responsible for keeping it alive..... like myself

 

If everyone thought like you, this forum would be heck of boring. lol

 

I guess this is where I step back in and laugh at everyone. I mean it does suck for those who are really anticipating something big but sites do go down for maintenance all the time. I hope I don't get banned for making this thread lol. I just wanted some fun and even believed myself that something could possibly happen. too bad. I won't post again when they go down.

 

No, you will not get banned. There's no reason for that. It's just that it's not something that would actually mean that they will release a new product. They can do that without taking the site down.
