Yea buzzin, i agree with you and all but you can;t always be a dissenter. i like alienware machines, they can be very good. i got very unlucky and mine sucked, but if you get a good one then nothing really to complain about.

 

yeah i would change my tune "if" i got a good one, no doubt.

I really agree with some of these people. I share your frustration and I know you are absolutely right regarding your rights as a costumer. But I would really re-think my strategy on expressing your frustration. The way you are doing it, is only going to put you in a bad situation. I really want you to keep around this forum, but you should try helping with what you experienced. If you want to "destroy" AW, create a blog as you suggested, or something like that. This is not the appropriate place to carry on those sort of actions.

Its probably worth re-checking your online status. I ordered mine the day it was available in the uk and his Phase 4 about 2 days after you.
Checked online about 20mins ago and noticed i was back in Phase 3. Gave them a call an spoke to Shaun who advised its a glitch with the website that when it moves into production it goes back into phase 3 and then will jump into phase 5 shortly after that - and i should recieve an email at this point too.
Asked how long i would be until shipping he advised usually within 5 business days but as its a notebook it may be less. So will be hitting refresh on my inbox waiting for the next email now.

Thanks to Sean in their CS dept. i am now having my m17x built and if the priorty status that Sean added works i should have my very own "new baby" by next weekend.... Seems ages away now and of course the phase page doesn' change over the weekend ha ha ha

they probably didnt expect someone to actually purchase a mug.

 

lol the system seems to try and assemble your whole order before passing it to production, even if part of it isn't actually anything to do with a computer which needs assembling i.e. a mug!

My advice to anyone ordering an Alienware system, who adds non pc components e.g. Mug, Mouse etc. ring the CS guys once it has been checked and payment verified, that way if anything needs backordering they can process your order through to production faster.

I only found out about my order being delayed because i rang them and asked what the delay was.

First is hilarious you ordered a mug... that's devotion!
Second... if they really used the mug to justify the delay... That has to be the sadest excuse ever to justify a delay of a system!

Anyway... I hope you will receive your laptop soon. I hope they don't introduce new hardware on the M17x soon... as it all seems to point out to. Imagine they introduce montevina and 9800m GTX...

Why are we, Europeans, always blessed with such technological speed?

i can't believe the mug would delay the m15x shipment. they sent my system and mug in different shipments. got the mug first and received the notebook the following day. AW makes me scratch my head sometimes when reading some of these threads.

well like he said they try and get everything together first... they probably just put it up there thinking no body would buy it and they were suprised when OB did so they had to make em ... jk jk but yea you never know hopefully you will get your system sooner rather than later

To be honest it's only been delayed by a week, my original estimated time was two weeks, which surprised me but, 3 isn't bad... So long as it is 3 of course, if not they'll get me on the phone every day lol

I think it's just a system/learning curve, maybe i did surprise them by ordering a mug lol

Well, i arrived at work this morning at loaded the phase page straight away. I was in phase 5 as expected but, 11:36am and the phase page is telling me
"We're sorry. Order status information is unavailable at this time, Please try again later?"

dont get too excited until you receive your email with the DHL delivery tracking number. this can take at least 3 weeks to come through (ok,that last bits a lie)
once you get the email it normaly takes roughly 3 days to get to you. you can use the DHL tracking number to follow its route to you.
good luck OB, at least you will definately get it this week.

Well i've got my tracking number but, how on earth do i get it to work, wherever i try on the co.uk site, it says number not recognised...

The instructions AW give do not seem to apply?

i think you have to give it a while before it works. let DHL enter the number into their system first. i remember this happened when i used UPS. i got the number too early and it was not in the system yet. a couple hours later it worked. i kept trying that number around every 20 min or so.

 

ha ha ha... if the pkg is in the DHL truck, you prolly wont get any info or updates until it reaches their center and gets logged into their computers... then the tracking really begins... and so does your madness awaiting the shipment...

I experienced the same problem when tracking mine too OB.

I followed Alienware's instruction by email step by step and could not get the tracking to work.

I found out the mistake was in their instruction ( sent by email ) they were telling me to track it by land, when my order was to be delivered by air.

You could use DHL Ireland's website or your destination country to track it. If it is to be shipped by air just enter the tracking number for air deliveries.

 

Lol i found the phone number and rang them, seemed that my parcel was on the system and "should" be delivered tommorrow between 9 and 5.....

More waiting... ho hum (",)

I'll deffinately have it by the weekend so i should bea ble to get my review done for next week, well, another m17x review anyways lol

Thats pretty good going if you should have it tomorrow. Im still day 3 into phase 5 (assembly?) just hoping it skips the next few pretty quick.

normaly they send out by road = 3 days but if you have to return it it goes back by air = 1 day.
