Hello, first off let me say hello to everyone. I just registered for this website minutes ago. Last night I purchased my very first laptop ever, and I thought I might as well go out with a bang, so I bought the new m15x. I was kind of on a budget, but I had to go through Dell, because they offer the payment plan on it, and also 12 months no interest so I couldn't go Sager, or Asus. Here is what I got
    Screen: 1600 x 900 (900p)
    CPU: i7 720QM 1.6GHz (2.8 GHz Turbo Mode, 6MB Cache)
    GPU: 260m GTX 1GB
    RAM: 4GB DDR3 Dual Channel 1066 MHZ
    Battery: Primary 6-Cell
The total after tax was around $2,000, but I got a 7% discount being with the military. Heres what I wanted to do with the laptop. Games I want to play
World of Warcraft, AION Online, Crysis, Fallout 3, All the Half-Lifes, Team Fortress 2, Left 4 Dead 1 & 2 (when it comes out) Down the road I will be playing Final Fantasy XIV, and Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2. So I'm hoping I'll be able to play those with great graphics. What should I expect to play these games at? I'm not that bright when it comes to notebook hardware, because I've been more of a PC guy, but any help would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Looks pretty good. I would add the higher rez screen and the 9 cell battery but thats just me. Theres nothing wrong with that screen but games might look better in 1920x1080, also the battery upgrade would probably be worth the $100.

1600x900 won't be bad on a 15" screen but if you get blu-ray then yes you would want the 1080p screen. You'll be able to play any game want just some of the more intense games may require some tweaks to the settings. Congrats!

    1080 FTW! lol

I was told that the 900p res on a 15.6" screen will be similar to 1440x900 on the 17".

So I went with the higher res ;)

That's a pretty good machine there! I think you will get some good performance out of it on most games.

Congrats and enjoy when you get it!
