    What did you name your Alienware?

    The thought crossed my mind yesterday after I placed my order. What have some of you officially named your computers? My current M15x is named STMF-1 (I know what it means :p ) and my M3200 will be named Lazarus or Project 11:1-44. I was thinking I want to name my m17x R2 something that correlates to it being red. Either something sleek and hot (Jessica Rabbit :D ) or brutal and vicious (Carnage of Spider-man:GEEK :). Just my first ideas. Anywho, have at it. Lets hear some awesome names.

    Im a mild case, my friend. Ive read of some people naming every computer after greek gods or star wars planets :p. When you first start up the computer youre given the option to name it, so why settle for naming it "Computer1" or something generic?

    No my name plate says Kamin_Majere. I think he's talking about when you set up windows and it askes for a user name and PC name.

    As to talking to my computer... i've never found anyone that doesnt talk to computers. Its usually yelling at them for doing something unexpected or what ever but everyone talks to them :p

    Which is odd because no one talks to something like a toaster when it makes bad toast, but let a computer do something out of the expected and everyone thinks they can "talk it down"

    When your computer is part of a network, its name will show up. you can choose what that name will be. The first time you boot up a new computer with windows, youre asked to name it. Most people usually skip it and use the name provided.

    although i didn't have it engraved, it's just the name in windows.

    Mine's named after Boudica, Queen of the Iceni who led an uprising in 50AD against the Roman oppressors.

    Her late husband was called Prasutagus, so it seemed very fitting :)

    All my computers since the first one I partly built back in 1989 have had the Italia prefix in their name. My M17x is ItaliaAlien, my XPS Gen1 is ItaliaMobil1 since I had 2 at one time and my Studio XPS 435T/9000 is ItaliaUlti6412, my truck's name on the other hand is Pandora

    My nameplate will be RecklessFable, the machine actual network name will probably be named after a fictional city. Each machine on my network is named that way. Easier to keep track of than whatever the defaults are.

    Let's see, my plate on the bottom has my WoW main's name engraved on it and my network name is ROSWELL because the frist two M17xR1 systems I got crashed on me. But thankfully that ordeal stretched things out long enough for the R2s to come out, which my frist one of those has been working great since Feb.
