Hi all, Im new to Alienware and just ordered my first system an M17x R4. Anyways, I have been scrounging the forum, trying to learn everything there is about Alienware and I noticed in some threads people talking up the "upgrade ability" with Alienware computers. I was just wondering if someone could share with me what that exactly is and perhaps how it works. :)

    Thanks

Not know the context of those threads I would suggest its relating to ease in working on the system. two screens and your in access just about everything. The m17x is a easy system to work on even for beginners. GPU and CPU can also be updgraded easily down the road.

Also, it means that the back panel comes off, giving you complete access to all the components. Pretty much everything is upgradeable in M17x R3.

As it says, nearly everything inside the Alienware is user replaceable, the video card, CPU, RAM, HDD, WLAN. Alot of laptops have soldered cards, or don't support MXM video cards.
