Ones that I'll have on my m15x when it arrives this week will be:

    UT3
    Guild Wars
    HL2 Episode 2
    HL2 TF2
    TES Oblivion
    NWN 2
    Crysis

I'll probably also pick up Age of Conan in the next month or so to check out. Thinking of installing Dreamfall again to play through as I had a blast with that game and can't think of any other good adventures that have come out recently. I might put the Witcher back on but it was very buggy the last time I tried it which was several months ago. I wish there was an expansion for Dark Messiah of Might and Magic. Am I the only one that had a blast with this game when it came out last year? (or was it year before?)

Anyway, what are you guys playin?!

All I put on so far are Bioshock and Orange Box. I love TF2. What is the deal with CS Source? I thought it was included in orange box, apparently I was wrong. Is it worth getting?

Yea, CS: Source is a lot of fun if you enjoyed the original Counterstrike. Check out www.gamespy.com/stats to see just how many people continue to play it. It's amazing. Anyway, it's basically just more of the same with updated graphics and the HL2 engine. I just burned out on CS a long time ago which is why I don't play it anymore, but its very popular. Bioshock was great, but I didn't seem to enjoy it quite as much as others. I think it was the whole schizophrenic 1920's atmosphere with Joker types running around that wore me down after awhile. That, and I was hoping it was going to be more similar to System Shock 2 since it was touted as being a spiritual successor. I still enjoyed the game enough to finish it though. Good stuff.

I really want to pick up a game similar to Baulder's Gate: Dark Alliance. What is that considered? RPG? I loved that game. Any suggestions?

Also, what was Dreamfall like? I'm at work and gaming sites are blocked for me lol

The cards jumping out of the screen at the end when you win might take up lots of system resources. I'd stick to minesweeper.

Dreamfall kicked ass. Here's a decent review. You can also purchase it now on Steam which makes it more convenient. It's basically a very much story driven adventure. One of the last "greats" since the genre seems to be dying out. An awesome adventure though and I had a blast with it.

Haha, Dark Alliance was great wasn't it? I can remember having some really fun times playing that with my buddies on the xbox back home. I wish my gf enjoyed games like this so I could play coop rpg's as all my gaming friends are back home several states away. She seems to only enjoy bejeweled and feeding frenzy on my 360! Anyway, as far as pc is concerned, the only game in recent years that comes to mind would probably be Titan Quest. It's an isometric action rpg with a Greek mythology setting. Pretty fun.

    Bioshock
    Orange pack
    Mass Effect
    The Witcher (amazingly good)

    And some others.

if you like sandbox games and messing around, gmod is a pretty fun hl2 mod you can get. it's like 10 bucks. you can replay any hl2 level in the series through gmod and basically manipulate the game any way you can think of.

I don't have my long awaited black matte m15x yet however my road map for installs is as follows.

++When i get mine ill install and play for the first time++

    Crysis
    Mass effect
    Assassins Creed
    The CLUB
Lost planet Colonies Edition (so i can pwn my brother on his 360 it has cross platform online)

++and wait for later in 2008/09++
Shawn White Snowboarding (plz let it be as good as SSX/amped)
    Farcry2
    Left4Dead
Half Life2 episode 3 (alyx vance is teh secxy)
    Crysis:warhead
    Fallout 3
    Cod5
    Starcraft2
    Diablo3
    Rage
    Dead Space
update to Wrath of The Litch King: Collectors Edition :)

    ++Games i will install but i'm already playing++

World of Warcraft// 109th guild in the US btw :)
Replay STALKER// with Car/weapon/co-op mods (which i just finished)
Team Fortress 2// just got all pyro unlocks last night :)
    Track mania// im speedracer IRL

i will also put on UT3 COD4 and Warcraft 3 on for LanPartys (or possibly on a external/smart bay drive that i will use for Lan related data.. as UT3 and COD4 are quite big and only fun at lans imo as well as for TVshows/wares/blue films .. etc)

++Games ive played but will not install++
    HL2 ep1 ep2
    Portal
    Bioshock
    Guitar hero3
    Gears of War PC
Metal Gear Soilid PC 1/2 (both dont work on vista cry)
and a bunch of other crud that has no place on my new m15x :)

Its been quite interesting to see others lists.. seems that its only really crysis/stalker that is a high spec game that is pushing your m15x purchase.. with other games people are listing being more personal interests or low spec games. To me even thou i list quite a strong Blockbuster list of titles that is only 30% of my reason to purchase the real 70% reason i'm getting my m15x is 3Dsmax Zbrush PS and CAD/illustrator /Cryengin2 Sandbox editor performance/ and as flawed as the m15x its about the same price to get a killer gaming notebook like this as it is to get high performance quadro GPU based workstation notebook. (and i want to work in the gaming industry /pray i hope employers think my ALienware is cool rather than corny at interviews -_# )

When i list it all out hummm... i'm going to need a big HDD :( but at least there are more games to look forward to on my m15x in the future than already out.. this makes me waiting for the black matte m15x not make me look so stupid but rather well planned.. i would have felt silly to have a m15x that all i did was play crysis/stalker on back in early 2008 and do every thing els on my current desktop :)

humm but seriously a 200 7200RPM main HDD is not going to be big enugh for me.. ( in need to install about 50gigs of Software ontop of this... mabye ill have to go for a 500 5200RPM... sigh slow speeds FTL :(

Wow, MGS 1 and 2 don't work on Vista? Nooooo. :(

(I have a quick question about the smart bay when it comes to gaming... as Heathkidd's got a good idea with the whole seperate LAN party game file storage thing... Would you recommend a smart bay just to install games to? How would it work? Would a shortcut be installed on the desktop but it wont load the game unless the smart bay with the linked game file path is inserted? Or is the whole thing just installed to the smart bay and you click on the .exe on there and it loads up from there like it's just another HDD?)

Haha, yes thats how I started! Ive actually had an account with EVE for about 8 months. I spend my time these days just trading, buy low sell high kinda stuff. I see all the corners of the galaxy which is exciting...but it can be scary as hell going through Low Sec in your freighter for that high paying station on the other side (lost many a' badgers running low sec)

As for games, I would most likely be installing:

    Bioshock
    The Orange Box
    Vampire: Bloodlines
    Crysis
    Far Cry
Clive Barker's Undying (makes me jump so much)
Grim Fandango (an old favourite. Hope it loads!)

And I can't wait for... Aliens: Colonial Marines!! They're using the expertise of people who worked on the film to make it really authentic looking. :)

I've also heard that many World of Warcrafters are converting to playing Age of Conan. I'm quite tempted to get it.

You can always load up XP on that second hard drive and boot from it to play your games ... just a thought.

That's how it would work if you were running/booting on the primary internal drive. You could also put your games on an external USB drive - the only problem with that is the USB cable might get unplugged in the heat of action.

@Gun: Yea, I think you might enjoy Titan Quest if you enjoyed Diablo 2. It's basically a D2 clone with upgraded graphics and a greek mythological setting. Addictive and fun. Worth trying. They have a demo that you can download if you want to check it out.

@milcs: Did they patch up The Witcher over the last few months? I had a blast with it before, but put it aside after dealing with so many bugs and technical problems.

Good lists going on in here. I wish I had waited to get Mass Effect for the pc, but unfortunately I bought it for my xbox before the pc version was released. It's been collecting dust so far but I'll be checking it out soon enough.

Assassin's Creed and Stalker are another two I wouldn't mind checking out. Sigh, so many games and so little time...

Oh yea, I can't wait for Guild Wars 2. Hopefully AoC will tide me over until then but I can't risk getting addicted to it quite yet as I'm juggling some RL stuff at the moment that needs my concentration.

I'm pretty picky in regards to games because... I pretty much only play rpgs. lol. But this is what I have:

    NWN2+MotB
The Witcher (just awesome... no other way to describe it)
    Vampire: Bloodlines

The rest of my games are at home on my desktop. Those are just the ones I play often. Can't wait for the new adventure pack for NWN2, the new adventure for The Witcher and then the new expansion for NWN2 that will probably come out around November. Hopefully it's better than MotB

    @groove

I think July is the release of the extended edition in which all the loading times will be cut down, bugs fixed, etc. All this content will be free for those who already have the game.

Regarding Witcher, there was a patch released around January (when I started playing it) and it seemed to be fine. It is really my style of games. You can even endorse in romance and all! :)

Assassin's Creed is really not that good. It's really boring after sometime. Impressive visually, but boring. Stalker, Crysis, CoD4... well, art in the form of games.
But by far, the best game ever made in history... GuildWars! :) It's dead for me though... Really waiting for GW2.

The hardcore WoW players are not switching or have switched and already come back after hitting level 80 in AOC as Age of Conan currently has a very underdeveloped End Game... ie.. nothing to do once u hit the level cap of 80... in World of Warcraft the Game really starts at the level cap in my opinion due to the wealth of content for both PVE and PVP.

ill prob try AOC in 6-12months once its matured abit more and has a Free trial sistem going.. atm its very underdeveloped compared to wow on a content perspective.

If your not a traditional MMO player AOC is quite apealing as its combat sistem is Spam/reflex based rather than logic :) however as a Australian gamer playing with a 300ms ping i will stick to the Logic :)

In regard to playing games off a external drive i think a Desktop Exe referring to the name of the Smartbay drive will work just fine.. i dont see any complications other than if the drive is not plugged in (hehe) or if the letter of the drive some how changes randomly .. which it should not.

humm... 500 5200 RPM... i hope its fast enugh as a primary drive :/

milcs i play all my games that suport online online so legality is a must! support the industry that supports you. :)

You should really try wow if u loved Guildwars... did u hear about the new World of Warcraft tournament servers? basically u pay a one off 25bucks entry fee to enter to tournament and u get to spawn the most powerful characters in the game and just focuse on PVP... its great for casual Killhungry players. I personally am all about the PVE and Lore of the watercraft universe but its a great option for people like you!

ooo Devil May Cry 4 i forgot about that... single player games like this i rather play on PC than my 360 as i always feel bad hogging the HD tv if im just gaming on my own and not with friends/siblings... i wonder if its on steam.. i think i'm also going to pick up a wired xbox 360 controler for my m15x... i have a Games for Windows dongle to use 360 controllers on PC... however that thing draws allot of power transmitting the 4Ghz wireless so i think a strait USB controller will use up less battery.
Once i actually order my m15x im prob going to spend another 1800 or so on accessory and games ... madness! but the PC industry really needs it :*( or els in 10 years time the only games for PC will be blizzard made

Poke, is NWN2 worth playing through and does it get better? I'm a big rpg nut, but was severely disappointed when I bought and booted up NWN2 at launch. It had so many technical issues and was so drastically different from NWN1 (expected since it was another developer) and ended up canning it. It's only recently that I heard the patches and expansion have improved it enough that I decided to put it back on again. I only remember the town fair introductory part at the beginning which seemed incredibly lame. It gets better I take it?

I realize there is a massive amount of WoW fanatics out there but I simply burned out on it very fast due to the incessant gear grinding and immaturity level among the young players. I'm partial with milcs in that I'm a huge fan of Guild Wars and it was refreshing to have an MMO that relied on pure skill and strategy vis-a-vis who had the most purple gear. On the other hand, GW does lack some of the fun social elements and immersive quality of WoW that comes from the seamless world, etc.. which is why I'm anxiously awaiting GW2. Hopefully it will be the best of both worlds.

GW was the game of my life... It ranks has the number one, with nothing coming even close to it. I grew a family in GW, we had a great guild... but with time, everything becomes tiring.
I did play a bit of WoW, but I found it really childish. I know I didn't really give it a true chance... Lots of guildies tried jumping onto WoW and didn't make it there for long.
AoC doesn't seem to be the new thing into MMO... so let's hope everything will change in GW2.

More... as a GW afficionado, I would never start playing WoW. I'm against paying monthly to play and, more... I am passionate about GW, so I hate WoW! :) Why? I don't know... Someone told me to hate WoW and I do! :D

The thing I like about WoW is the carnivals, fishing contests, and seasonal themes that they put on with tongue-in-cheek humour. I wish I had a pet Murloc though. I know they were limited edition from some convention once, but they really do need to bring those back.

Milcs... I just watched a trailer for The Witcher. I think I may buy that. It looks... sexy.

Lol, Milcs. And if they told you to jump off a bridge? :p

The only thing I dislike about WoW is the vast amount of young, Dutch school kids that use really bad spelling and grammar. I don't like "gld", I don't like "plz", and I most certainly do NOT like "plix"!!!

The secret with wow it to bring a group of friends into the game with you to play it... like a Dungeons and Dragons group.. thats how the game is best played. But like milcs said this kind of community conversion is not always possible. But its also its secret to its addictive sucsess there is nothing more intoxicating in the world than human friendship!

NWN2 is good and is a visual pleasure for the eye. I didn't like the original campaign nor mask of the betrayer... but the ones they are talking about to come out soon sound better.

The thing with NWN2 is that a lot of people came over to the original NWN from baldur's gate and baldur's gate II and were upset because you couldn't control your companions. Well, I actually preferred that and almost never use my companions the way you can in NWN2. It was a pretty decent compromise. They just didn't work on the stories as much as new content and I play rpgs for the story mostly.

For me, the game has one more chance to redeem itself with the new expansion or I may just stop playing. Gameplay means nothing if the story is so boring and repetitive you no longer want to play.

Like The Witcher had amazing gameplay and story.

Heathkidd, I know what you mean about human friendship and bringing people in the game with you. However, I am alone in my gaming interests when it comes to MMORPG's. My other half mocks me and states that WoW is "for 14-year-old boys". :(

One of the games I'll be getting is Blazing Angels 2. You fly WWII war planes over England and Germany, and it has some pretty stellar graphics. Run a search for it and--Nevermind. They have the video on Alienware's games download section. You just have to find the game itself. I'm pretty excited to get to play it once my lappy arrives.

Funnily enough, Gears of War was recommended to me on the X-Box 360 (although I would need to buy a 360... and have now decided that the 360 wins over PS3 overall).

If it's the decent game that person promised it to be, I may get it on the PC too. *goes to look for a trailer on play.com*

    Hi Cat,
The main difference between the 360 version and the PC version is that the PC version includes more levels. The 360 version may be cross compatible with the pc version through live. However, I haven't checked into it. I'd assume that it would skip all the new levels if it was. If you want the more complete version, the PC version is better (although it doesn't run as smooth as the 360 version).

    Gabe

P.S. - a console will always perform better than a pc. When you program for a console, everything is identical for everyone. When you program for a pc, you have to consider the weakest link. It's very hard to program for every single pc scenario.
