What games do you have installed?

Second life is not a Game in my opinion its a Chatroom/smutt filled hole that gives mmos a bad name.

Sorry to hijack the thread but does any one Know of / has any good PC snowboarding games installed on their M15x.?

I was a massive fan of Cool boarders and the original SSX back in the day.. right now im trying to import a copy of Amped3 to Australia as it was never released here... guess im going to have to wait till Shawn white snowboarding end of this year on PC and see if its any good.. (a snow boarding gaming using the assassins creed engin should be interesting)

Ye i'd agree second life does seem to give mmos a bad name and personally although i've never played it i wouldn't touch it with a 10 ft pole and Heathkidd's description of Chatroom/smutt filled hole sounds like a pretty gd description from what i've seen / heard about it

I used to like hitting the cows with my sword.

 

I've been screaming that they had to be making one all along. It makes complete sense with the updated engine used to make Starcraft 2. They would have been fools NOT to have a dev team using the same engine to make D3. They even bought the diablo3.com domain awhile back. Who wants to bet that the "next gen MMO" Blizz has been working on will be World of Diablo? All D3 does is warm the public back up to the Diablo universe. It gets the old fans back into the game and introduces new fans to the franchise. I'd bet money that the next MMO will be set in the Diablo universe which is going to be crazy since it's heavy angels/demons lore with a much darker world. Ah well, we'll see.

i think a long time ago i heard about a world of starcraft. i think that got cancelled though, im not sure. if diablo 3 is real and that trailer is real i know what im going to be doing when i start college in september. even if it doesnt come out by then i know everyone else in class will definitely be playing once it comes out.

 

I was talking about this with a buddy other day. I suppose that Blizz could be working on a Starcraft MMO, but I think it's too big of a risk for them to be honest. What other "sci-fi" MMO has actually worked in the past? SWG and perhaps Anarchy Online are the only two that I can possibly think of and even they weren't that "successful". I think the fantasy universe is much more readily accessible to most people and is a more natural form of "escapism" than sci-fi. If it were to be put in the Starcraft universe, I don't see how they can avoid some heavy sci-fi along with military underpinnings which is uniquitous throughout the game history. That, and can you really imagine leveling up a Zerg of all things? Anyway, personally I hope it's Diablo but even then it's going to more than likely be a much darker game than WoW unless they can cheer things up a bit.

 

Dont forget EvE online. They have a pretty loyal fanbase and it doesnt seem to be losing steam at all.

Is "Far Cry Instincts: Predator" on the Xbox 360 the same as Far Cry on the PC?

 

no its very different story section i didn't enjoy it ... its abit over the top and the maps are not as big

Yea, I can't wait to try out COD4. Everyone raves about it. The last ultra realistic military shooter I played was America's Army but haven't played any of the COD series. I'll be getting it for pc though as I don't enjoy shooters as much on the console. Halo would be the only exception but I get my ass handed to me on xbox live when playing halo. I don't even have a gold membership at this point, just silver or whatever the free one is.

You know, it would be cool if we could all set up some common shooter to play against each other at some point. Maybe a good demo that everyone could download like UT3 or HL2 or something everyone might have. I'd love to hide and ambush some of you people to make up for my lack of skillz.

 

Groove75, you haven't tried COD series :O? If I were you, I would get all of them, best military shooter I've tried.

I know dude, I don't know what's wrong with me. I've been such a UT junkie that I never got around to trying them, but on the other hand I love military shooters. The only ones I really played were AA, SOF2 (loved), HL2 mods like Red Orchestra, and... that's about it. I'm definitely going to try COD4. All the screenshots and gameplay footage looks awesome.

 

COD4 is awesome both the single player and multi player. They did a very good job with it.

 

THanks LOL, the only fun thing in my house are the tv, refrigerator, shower, and finally my m15x LOLZ.

Well, after reading the list twice... it is alot!! Sometimes i just didnt notice how many games i have installed lolz like i said its my first high-end graphic notebook... so i kinda been itching to try all those high-graphic game, both new and old (its like their box cover are sparkling to me!) but i didnt buy all of it! Some of it were borrowed from friends while others download~~~

its like they have the expression of; "WTF!?!?" when you kill them so suddenly... lolz

Heh, the ambushing reminds me of a buddy of mine who was the KING of ambushing. His crowning moment was back when we used to play Duke Nukem 3d and were playing the map "Red Light District" for any of you guys/girls that remember that game well. There's this almost like garage door that lifted up from the outside and you went inside this room and up a ramp on the left. There was a pool table back there, etc.. Anyway, I was hunting for him all over the map and stopped to take a phone call. While I was on the phone he proceeds to lay 50 pipe bombs all over the inside ramp and floorway behind that retracting door to the outside. I get off the phone and come running for him. I ran inside that door and stopped because something looked odd. The entire floor textures and ramp texture was completely silver... Only then I realized it was a gazillion pipe bombs and there he was at the mouth of the ramp with his detonator. He still laughs and says that even though he only saw my "duke" model in game, I had the biggest "oh sh*t" expression on my face. Needless to say BOOM!!!

I got him back though by laying trip mines at every spawn point on the map and then killing him which set off this chain reaction of spawn kills, hehe. Man, I miss that game. Good times.

In my XPS M1530 (back in Feb) it was quite stable. It's an amazing game. The same goes for CoD4... what a beauty.

 

Groove, what an excellent idea about a psuedo-LAN party for us all from the company of our own homes. When we all manage to get a machine up and running, we'll have to have a bash at an online game together, as suggested by Groove. COD4 would be an obvious choice. Or UT3. Have they ironed all the bugs out of UT3 yet? Jester is SO modelled after J-LO!! I used to visit the website and click on all the character soundbytes. She even sounds like her!

(Until I get a gaming laptop sorted, I would definitely be up for some online gaming on the Xbox 360. Just PM me if you are up for that).

 

If NBr's AW forum members ever start a clan, count me in Not a bad idea.

 

I pretty much stopped playing WoW two months ago, after doing nothing but jumping around in IF for 2-3 hours and then rerolling arena teams every week lol. I guess i'll log on next week and get my mount out of the mail and then not play the game for another month

 

Does anybody here remember how great Goldeneye was on the N64? Was there ever a PC port? I bought an N64 just for that game. I'd never seen the film, but when I finally saw the film, I used to point and shout excitedly, "it's the science facility!"... "it's the frigate!"... "it's the outdoor Siberian base!"
