    Hi

Because i cannot be at home 24/7 waiting for the delivery man/woman for the next week, every time i go out i risk him/her coming when i'm not home

i know you have to sign for it and the dell website says to have someone there to sign for it but does anyone know what happens to it if your not there? do they delay it 1 or several days or make you replace ur order or what??

    Thanks

It's up to your delivery man. He will leave a note and usually come back next day if you aren't home. Repeat that three times and the machine will be on its way back.

Find out when it's at your local location for delivery and call them to schedule a pick up at the place. You will need several forms of IDs for verification.

Not 100% true, if it's new they have to have a signature but every time Dell has sent me a package requiring a signature it could be an indirect signature, I left a peice of paper on my front door with the tracking number my signature and a note on where to leave the package that was secure, do not do this if you don't have a pretty secure home, you can also have a neighbor you trust sign for it and hold it.

That sounds like a good idea but unfortunately (well not really unfortunately but...) i won the laptop in a competition and they just said my details have been given to alienware so i dont actually have a tracking number or nething as of yet.. maybe they will send me one. also i can't get scheduled pickup in my area :(

Hopefully as anodize said he/she just leaves a note and comes back the next day

^^^Seriously, sounds good to me. Call fedex or ups and give them your info and that story they should be able to give you the tracking number, or with that slip you can sign it after the first delivery attempt and they'll leave it.

I missed my delivery by 10min. I called fedex and they tracked down the truck and and the fedex installation where my laptop was at. Fedex told me that if i get to the fedex building before it closes i can pick it up and thats what i did.

That's interesting, I missed first delivery of my m17xr2 and called fedex, they said they have no contact with the drivers and I would have to pick it up at the location or wait for the next delivery, jerks!

GameSpot is your go-to source for video game news, reviews, and entertainment
cant believe i actually won it iv never won anything

Im in Australia so not sure if we have fedex but im sure dell uses a similar company. Hopefully the delivery company here leaves the tracking number too
