Found this option on the Dell UK m17x r4 configuration page. Any ideas what it means?

No. There is a normal 7970m option then there is a MOD,CRD,GRPHC,HD7970M option.

I just switched from US to UK and see exactly what you are seeing. The same problem is visible with 660M and 675M, and the prices match up. It seems to be an error on the web page where the options are redundant. The format of the description matches the syntax you would see on an order invoice or packing slip.

Look at the M18x configuration page and you will see that 7970M Crossfire is listed twice (with NVIDIA cards between them) for the same price by mistake as well, but the syntax of the description is not messed up like it is on the M17x R4 configuration page.

Somebody just goofed up formatting the configuration page. It's not uncommon to see errors on the configuration pages. It's always best to call and negotiate a deal anyway, because the web prices are higher than what you can negotiate with a sales rep.
