Back in February of 2008, when I got my m15x I ended up some goodies in the box. I haven't read anything about these on the site - but I do see alot of new m17x guys with some of those same items in their pictures.

Ok, so I got a very nice neropene Alienware sleeve, which I think was probably the biggest reason my laptop stayed scratch-free for it's two year life-span before it was crushed.

I got an AW mouse pad.

    An AW ballcap style hat.

A cool small leather binder with a thank you letter, and all the discs for the system. It even had a couple stickers in it, and a clear sticky for the touchpad to take away the "sticking finger" issue.... I never used the touchpad though. I use external mice - so no biggy. Just noting it was in the box.

Packed extremely well in a black box.

Later, they sent me a coffe mug for taking over 2mo to get my laptop to me, LOL!

What are they sending nowadays? Hoping it's pretty much at least the same thing.

Cool cool... I just made my order on 10/26 so I assume it's the m17x-R2. I just can't find any info on it. What're the differences?

Mainly hoping for the Neoprene sleeve... lifesaver I tell ya.

BTW, the clear sticky was requested by alot of new m15x owners then. It was really difficult to run your finger across the pad. It did not come pre-installed. It was basically just a textured sticker that was in the box just in case it bothered you. Again, it didn't bother me at all... I never used it anyways and when I did - it just took some getting used to. I didn't find it to be a huge deal. I was more concerned with my busted hinge and creaking case. :/

Oles chiefs. Nice you ordered a new notebook ey koolos.

The main difference to tell an R1 from an R2 with the M17x systems is to look out for the CPU and GPU options. Core i series means it is R2 and 5870 or 285M mean it is R2 also. Anything else usually means it is an R1.

I also got the same stuff and bunch of goodies like you. Although the 1st time I didn't get a cap.
I also got the alienware sticker.

    Cheers. :)

    Here's my new build...

    Intel Core i7 740QM Quad Core, 1.73GHz (2.93GHz Turbo Mode, 6M Cache)
    8GB Dual Channel Memory (2x 4GB DDR3)
    17-inch WideXGA+ 1440 x 900 (900p)
CrossfireX 1GB GDDR5 ATI Radeon Mobility HD 5870
    640GB Raid 0 (2x 320GB 7,200RPM HDDs)
Genuine Windows 7 Ultimate, 64bit, English
Intel Ultimate N WiFi Link 6300 a/g/n 3x3 MIMO Technology

So yeah, I've got the R2.... so what's different? They still give the Neoprene sleave or what? (am I making a big deal of the neoprene - we needz the neoprenez!!!)
