    Extreme ECU - Check

    Blu Ray - Check

Dual 9800gtm (highest spec mobile SLI card at this moment) - Check

    Proprietery modern case/chasis - Check

DDR2 - ok I'll give you that one!!!!

64 Bit, 8 gigs of ram - check

So what makes it outdated? Ive read alot of reviews on the m17 and some weren't as favorable as the m17x. The m17 uses an older desighn chasis, cant change the LED's of the keyboard, mouse, screen etc. Ok the m17 does have DDR3 (benefits debatable) and a quad ECU although cool not much more powerful. So enlighten me, I just finished my work and now I have nothing to do in the COC. I'll forever love my m17x, the last truley original AW since DELL has now taken over.

Outdated is a bad way of saying it as most people here do. You don't get DDR3 memory, 1066 bus (doesn't mean you can't run a 1066 proc) and quad core support.

IMO, you have to go back to Pentium M to say outdated. The M17x is very much here and now!

Actually 9800m GTX's are the best SLI Card... soon to be knocked out by the 280m in sli (1-2 months)

It uses a PM965 series chipset, which is the previous generation one. The current is the GM/PM45 series, which features 1066mhz bus processors, and as mentioned, quads. you can't put processors like the T9900, P9600, X9100, QX9300 into the m17x.

Yes they are, check my sig. They can, but they produce a lot of heat and would most likely melt an m17x.

Note what he said, 9800M GTX, not 9800 GTX.

MY opinion it is not really that outdated, it still beats out 90% of the laptops out there. God Bless :)
