Highly focused on the M11x here but would appreciate some info on the M15x is you have it.

I'm interested on buying a 'laptop powerpack' for the long flights I seem to take from Europe to North America so I would just like to know if the adapter head for the Alienware will fit inside a Dell for example.

Otherwise, if you have any advice on laptop powerpacks you have used. Throw that down as well.

    Thanks for the help.

I think they are all using the same style of connector. I use a Kensington Airline Power adaptor which comes with a raft of tips. It works with my Dell XPS m1330 and my Dell D620.

Having looked at the many pictures and videos I believe that the power tip for the M11x is the same as the one I'm using currently.

Are you planning to use the M15x on airline power? I suspect it might be too powerful. I have a Clevo/Sager G860 which is very similiar to the M15X but it sucks too much power for the airline power on British Airways and Virgin Atlantic.

Really? I was under the impression that they all had differant tips. Has anyone got a picture of the AC adapter for the M11x or even better, the tip?

Thanks for your help though Mr McRae

yes, I also think that the power an M15x requires might be way too much for an airplane. The M11x should be fine though

I have found several airlines are now just providing an AC outlet at the seat so your AC adaptor would just plug in.

(mostly on the Air bus aircraft, and larger over seas flights)

    Dave,
What airline is that? I fly UK->US usually 2 times a month and I've never seen that. I'd change airlines to use one that had that as an option. Still suspect that the power output would be limited in some way.
