Hi everyone! Just got my R2 replacement; I'm wiping and installing Professional instead of Home Premium :) And I was just wondering if there was a proper order to install drivers off the Dell site in? Thanks a bunch!

Does it matter? I ask because I did a reformat and I know there was no order to it and mine works fine.

Use this order - although it was last updated for Vista, it should be the same for Win7. Yes, it does matter.

    Alienware : Driver Sequence

    Always install Command Center last.

Use the order I posted. Nothing official for the other models (which I have been able to locate at least), but there is no reason why it would change (IMO of course). The key points,

    Chipset first

    OSD before Command Center

    Command Center is always last

Best trick to do is Download everything to a Flash drive or USB drive Then Format Then useing Batboy guide. So everything up to date.

I put a new larger hard drive in and it didn't matter how I installed the drivers. I did do OSD and Command Center last. OSD before Command Center, but other than that, I didn't even install the chipset.

No - as long as you have no issues, dont worry about it. If you begin to develop issues, next clean install - use the previously mentioned order.

In the end its your decision, if you havent installed a bunch of apps, why not perform a clean install again? Up to you.

Okay I have a question. Just to make sure I didn't misread the order. Where do the Intel Rapid storage, intel matrix storage, and SSD drivers fit into the order. I would think it would be after the chipset at the least. But I didn't see it mentioned in the linked list or the list on the Dell driver support list either.

Correct - not mentioned. Personally, my choice for those is immediately following the chipset driver.
