Probably around the official release. Most companies like Dell tend to play it safe when it comes to driver releases, especially around new OS releases. Not releasing til the OS is 'in the wild', makes catching last minute update bugs etc that much easier.

Sometime around then, call it the first of November, and by then they should have started releasing.

I was thinking, why would they release drivers for a OS that hasn't come out yet????

That means Win7 drivers will come out in about 12 months... Usually Dell is about a year behind with updating its drivers...

Considering they need these same drivers to sell a laptop, I'll garner when they start selling Win7 laptops, it must be a stretch to say they'll have win7 drivers by then....

Dell will wait until the last minute

I heard that the M15x Command Center works in the M17x for Windows 7 for all the features except for Fusion (so Sense, Touch, FX all work)

Aliensense is the facial recognition. Download the Windows 7 M15x Command Center, uninstall your current M17x Command Center and install the Windows 7 M15x Command Center and you're off and running. The only thing that doesn't work is the AlienFusion which is your power management, but you can do that within Windows 7 anyway.

I don't have a Windows 7 option for the dropdown, although alot of stuff in the description lists windows 7 64 bit as a compatible version

its not stupid to put out more options for the "simple " people to click on and screw up ;)

i think its pretty smart other wise they have to help the people who install win 7 early or XP ;)
