I have an odd situation here.
When i connect my earphones its like the sound only is in mono.
It has nothing to do with the earphone, already tried some other ones. And if i try ajusting the balance button in audio options i can turn volume up & down endividually fore left and right, so theres nothing wrong with the output either..
I first noticed in call of duty & battlefield because all the sounds comes from the same place. There no difference between left and right.
Also in windows when i play music its the same. Like in mono..
Really wierd since it has nothing to do with the headphones? OR the output?

Have you got the SRS settings messed up in the IDT control panel ? Try Playing with the Audio settings in COD + Battlefield too becasue it sounds like a software issue.
If all else fails try reinstalling the Audio Drivers ? -
Even i have the same issue. I dint find a solution for it. but i have work around.
Plug the headphones halfway in or a little more or less and you will hear through both the ends. -
Sounds like the audio driver issue.

Nothing worked!
I tried reinstalling the drivers, that did not help. Also tried plugin in the phones halway, but no again.
Not anyone who worked this out? there must be a way to fix it! -
If the halfway in trick worked then that might mean one of the connectors inyhe audio port are loose or not soddered correctly. I don't have the laptop, but are there other audio out options to test? Can you hear sterio through the laptop speakers? Try to see if you can find a program that can isolate left and right channels in music and muting one. What do you hear?

Thats the wierd part of it. Windows have a button were you can turn volume up for both left and right induvidually. And that i can. But its the same sound that come out of both left and right. My laptop speakers works in stereo, but its when i connect my headphones somethings happend?

but i tried different headphones, it works fine. -
Check the IDT Audio Control Panel. Be sure the Audio Jacks are configured for headphones - click on a jack to select its function - right side of screenshot. Also check all other playback functions within the IDT control panel.

Were can i find that control panel?
i Cannot find that anywere? only have the windows default options? -
Reinstall the Audio driver - the control panel should be there. Start Menu ----> Control Panel ----> IDT
Audio Adapter
IDT 92HD73C1 Audio Chipset
v6.10.0.6261 A01, Last Updated: 01/20/2010

Dont worry about the Compatibility showing only the M17x R2. The R1 and R2 use the same audio chipset and it will install.
Just run the installer. It will remove the existing IDT driver and reinstall the new one. -
okay. ima try it out right now.. will get back to you and thx in advance

I now got the control panel for IDT up and run. When i run the test for left and right it works perfecly switching between those. But still when i playback audio, there is no difference.
I produce music myself and i have a track were i clearly are swiching between left and right with a sound. But on my alienware there is no difference between left and right!
but in the control panel it has no problem with the seperation.
Its not only in playback audio. Also with movies and games ect.
If i playback music, and at the same time touch the slider for speaker konfiguration it is moveng the sound from left to right, but no difference in the ouput of those.
its really wierd! -
Desactivate the srs premium, under the logo. Worked for me.
