Any rumors or information leading to when we can see an update on this sweet, but fragile computer?

I'm torn between m15x and waiting for the new MBP which, I am tired of waiting for...

I want MBP, but all my software is windows so...I may just stay...

I doubt the m15x is going to get replaced so soon .. the footprint will stay .. the internal components are going for upgrades .. the model number might not change as well..

The spent a lot of time and money on designing it

No, they spent time all right, but not on designing it, just time spent sittin on their butts.

    WELL said .. :D

They spent time on designing the looks of the notebook, but not proper attention to the engineering perfection it should have had..

I wonder what will happen if a person cranks up a quadro FX3600M based m15x to its limits.. how the hell are they packing a ~70W TDP card in the same machine that huffs and puffs with ~40W of 8800GTX...

It's really not that bad... don't get sucked into the anti-hype.

Zero major issues on my m15x, 2 months and counting. My only concern now is if the hinge will break or not and I'm kind of confident it won't. If the hinge doesn't break, the power, the aesthetics, the smart bay flexibility and mobility will keep me happy for a long time.

I'm sure both of us are mentally prepared for it at this point.

Ennea, its really not about an anty hype, but the m15x was a complete and total failure. Compare it to the release of the m17x and the problems that were associated with it, and then you will understand...

The m15x was released 6 months before the date it should have been released, with improper troubleshooting, design, etc, etc...

Certainly you don't have any major issues now, but we are talking about the time they took to design and develop it. And they made one of the biggest screw ups in the history of boutique laptops.

Mind you, I think no laptop is perfect. My M860TU is not perfect... but close! ;)

So Milcs you been having problems on the M860TU. This is sounding like human error more then make. Basicly the humans make the item and the item has the errors.

The one line that fact is life is not perfect. No matter how you live it.

    Hein?
Who said I've been having problems with the M860TU?

I've just received the M860TU yesterday and there are some minor "imperfections". But no problems so far. The computer is solid, amazingly build, amazingly cool and amazingly quiet. Obviously nothing is perfect, but so far, I would risk say... this is the perfect laptop for me.

But as you say... life is not perfect.

I'd keep it around another year or so and just upgrade the guts. Perhaps offer a black model?

+1 really you can't have an opinion unless you were here for the LAUNCH. So much **** was wrong with it. Overheating GPU's, cracking cases, CPU downclocking and this was BEFORE we found out about hinge snapping.

They should have spent a few more SOLID months of testing it.

No, he's right. I'm aware of the initial problems. Yet, I stated how long I had it for that reason. I'm talking about now, not before. It started out as a failure. If these hinges stop breaking, even if they don't and if hinges are the only issue, it's not a failure.
