Hey guys, in the alienware ebay store, and alienware refurb area, they're only selling the turion and the really old (with the X1400 ATI card) in their refurb.

However there's bound to be people canceling their orders of M17x, M17, M15x and M9750, but I never, ever see them on sale in ebay store, or their refurb area in Alienware.

I emailed their CS with regards to that, and have yet to get an answer from them, and I don't think that I will either..

So any insights from you guys here?

Unfortunately, the refurb section of Alienware's website (along with ebay), are the only ways to purchased a used one. Although there are a lot of refunds and cancellations being made, the parts are most likely being recycled. Refurbished products usually come out at the end of a products life.

Currently, we are not offering recertified systems on newer models. Check back our website at a later time as it will list systems that we may have available.

    Thank you.

Just buy a new Alienware Laptop and they will most likely send you a refurbished one... Since you will never know they have nothing to lose...

Dont believe me? I spend over $2500.00 on an M15x laptop and they send me one with scratches and the Alienware booklet had pen marks in it... So think about it this way, they repair there systems from someone who sends it back to them to try to make it look as new as possible and send it to there next customer. Saves them money, why not?

    Hi shaknbakenyc,
If that's the case, you should be able to return it. It's illegal to sell a refurbished product for a new price.

Buy an Alienware pc- get out your camcorder and video tape opening of package and inspection of new pc (with time/date encoding). :)
I think my next notebook will be from xoticpc.com or vigorgaming.com. Comparable system specs at half the price (actually Xotic's specs are higher). Alienware quality/cost ratio is on a steady decline Just like it's parent company Dell. It's just Just not worth it anymore.

Thank you for the input guys, and Alienware.

The reason I'm looking at M15x is because it can reach 2.5 hours battery life, and have switchable graphics. I do about 80% work/20% gaming on my laptop and although the Sager's 17" model is comparable, the M15x is "newer" and more future-proof. However ofcourse I can be wrong, but looking at NP5793 specced out similarly to AW, the difference is 17" and 15"..

So I'm kinda in a loop as to which I want to choose. I'm also on the lookout on the discontinued Gateway as well, but my final decision will be on Black Friday itself, that's when I'll whip out the credit card and take the plunge.

It's because of the economy. Gas prices are going down too.
