I think AW might be the only place. or from some m9700 owner if you are lucky.

    actually a $1000 m9750 w/single 7950 gtx can outperform m9700 with SLI 7900.

    I don`t really think so :D
    SLI 7900 are a tad better than a 7950GTX.

@Eleron - I consider a single GPU better than SLi even if the SLi is quicker because of the headache that SLi provides on a daily basis.

I agree with Stone. More often than not, SLi doesn't work and the benefit isn't there. 7950 SLi is SUPPOSED to be comparable, though a little slower than an 8800 GTX, but in reality, it's not 75% of the time. You also become a 'driver junkie' looking for that next driver update and hoping that one game your playing get's a speed boost.

about your message on my Proccessor on the other thread aswell:

is there any other graphics card i can SLi or even not SLi in an Alienware Aurora M9700 except for a nVidia GeForce Go 7900 GS? (which i currently have 1 of) and to SLi my laptop, do i just have to buy another nVidia GeForce Go 7900 GS and stick it in the other slot? Or is there more 2 it than that?

OP: Call tech support. I bought an extra 7900gs for my m9700 last year and they charged me about $200 from what I remember.

I'm glad I'm not the only one that hates all the SLI headaches. I loved my m9700 but the SLI madness is what finally drove me to sell it and is a big reason I opted for the m15x vs the m17x this year. Damn, I about pulled my hair out with all that craziness.

I just bought on from someone here, try posting a WTB add in the Buy Sell Trade section. I found one in less than two weeks! And yes I'm having all the SLI/driver/craziness! I did buy one from ebay, wrong mxm type so didn't work. Be careful the m9700 uses mxm type 3 (special Amiria) and make sure to match your memory if your adding a second card.
