Hi guys, i have an Alienware Aurora M9700. I bought it January last year, it cost roughly £1000. Currently i have an 2.01 GHz AMD Turion 64 Processor. It is working on a 754 socket. I was wondering if any of you could find me a place to buy an Amd Turion 64 ML-44 (2.4 GHz) Processor. Thx.

Thx, but i was looking for one that wasnt used, and preferably not on Ebay, but thx for looking for me

here is my opinion: (price)
your m9700 + new cpu + new gpu = p-6860fx with much better performance. -
well, you see i rang Alienware if i could upgrade my CPU to a Dual-Core, but they said i couldn't. So the highest i could get is 2.4. I'm not even sure if i'm gonna get this, cause its not a big upgrade from 2.01 - 2.4.
I can't get a new GPU i dont think, but i can get another nVidia GeForce Go 7900 GS (check out my other thread). But what do you mean by : p-6860fx with much better performance? and also what you mean by: here is my option: (price)? (thx again for helping me
)

@Spaz - You MAY be able to upgrade to a 7950GTX but I am unsure. The only problem is that the CPU is a big bottleneck for some cards as it is only single core so don't even bother with an upgrade. I think he was saying that a P-6860FX would yield better performance and would cost around $1300 as opposed to buying a new processor and 2 new GPU's.

thx 4 help, but can you talk about my GPU on my other Thread plz, thx
.

the gateway FX 6860 has 8800gts,320gb hdd,4gb ram,1.8ghz dual core cpu and this all at 1350 @ bestbuy
-
thx 4 info, but i don't really want a NEW laptop, just to upgrade my other 1
-
picky picky... i wanna upgrade not buy new... too good for ebay... can't crosstalk between forum threads...
man, you're just too particular for your own good. perfectionist much? -
Have a look on ebay.
IMO , the extra 300Mhz isn't worth the money for the upgrade you will barely see, if any, changes in your gaming and apps. -
/agree.
not sure why everyone is so obsessed about Ghz anyways. I actually bought my CPU because it was the slowest with the 6mb L2 Cache. Mhz didn't sway my choice at all. -
just want to give you a quick idea how slow it is.
for 3dmark06:
AMD ML-44 2.4ghz (around $280) - 940
intel T8100 2.1Ghz (around $200) - 1836
intel T8300 2.4ghz (around $190) - 2117 -
You are comparing a single core processor to dual core 2 processors.
-
no I am comparing price/performance ratio.
Where can i buy an Amd Turion 64 ML-44 (2.4 GHz) Processor?
