The Alienware thread of the forum should either be relabeled "my m15x sucks forum or "my m17 is the king of 3dmarks forum". What happened to all of the m17x's? I use mine all the time. If Im not on some patrol than Im using the beast. The m17x has made the second half of deployment go by alot faster, thank you AW for a great machine!!!!! Heck there are more threads about Dell's 1730 or the older 9750!!!!

That reminds me, have you seen my latest 3dmark scores??

Just kidding - actually, that's a good question. Lately, though, I think everyone's been a little preoccupied with the countdown mystery and the possibility of something new on the horizon (nbut, then again, we're computer enthusiasts - we're ALWAYS preoccupied with the possibility of something new on the horizon!)

well at this current stage, most AW seller recommand ppl to buy M17 isnt it ?

before i bought my M17. I told the AW seller, i cannot decide between M17x and M17. The AW seller highly recommand me to get a M17 rather than a M17x. then i asked them why ? they just told me M17 is the newest product and run more stable than M17x and last more longer than M17x. so.. i got my M17 now.

I'm here, with my m17x, just don't post because I haven't had one problem with mine, and I see no need to go mucking around with something that is not broken.

Me, personally? nope. That's why I'm somewhat annoyed at my timing - bought my M17 system about a month ago. I love it, but of course would also love to have the 'latest, greatest', and it's not going to happen... :)

Normally I'll buy a new one every 4 or 5 years, assuming my computer a) survives that long (and I try to take good care of them, so they generally do) and b) still runs what I ask of it (and I try to buy high end up front, so they usually do...)

So, looks like I'll check back in 5 years and see what's new then for my next purchase... :p

Jesus Jeffreyac, 5 years would kill me! although I will be the first to admit that I cant afford to be looking at this new notebook after buying my M17 just 3 months ago. Although I have nearly paid off the money I had to accrue to get it.

I was waiting on a last price drop on the m17x, couse I was still poor when it came out. I bought an M17 last week, (cheap) tested it, and put it on ebay so I can buy the m17x. No hly sht they dropped it. So I have to look for one on ebay :( I think the 9800 still beats the 3870, and no need for quad core if you have the x9000. And I really don't like blue lights anywhere.

the 9800m gt is alittle better then our cards but not by a huge amount. plus price is also factored into it. is xxx dollars worth xxx performance increase.

m17x or m1730 owners put up some benchmarks.

mr moo how can you justify that?

3dmark06 is a dx9 benchmark and yes ati has built there cards arounnd it. but that is the only benchmark that i see ati card really excel. but most real time games i rock in. i would have to record a video and then encode it and it will be a pain our wise i would do it.

    Yeah Don,

ATI and Nvidia cards will both rock. As far as mobile GPU's go, I prefer Nvidia because of the driver support they provide to mobile users. Also, as we've seen, the current crop of ATI mobile cards are CPU dependent so having a fast CPU with them increases framerates.

do you really think that? what games can you prove that this is a fact. not including 3dmark06. i made my clock at 6x and my score was 8500. i said are you kidding me and haven't chosen 6x again. lol

i am not saying it doesn't but i just need to verify what you are saying.

    btw 6x is 1.6ghz.

    Don,

I wish I could remember exactly where the posts are, but but I've seen them in this forum and the W90 forum. "I think", viciousXUSMC or Quadzilla uploaded some data about this?

We, of course, are fortunate to have very capable CPU's to add to the performance of our 3870's.

EDIT: This isn't exactly what I was looking for Don but I'll link this and look in the W90 forum info and add here:
